The MotorStar Co-in 125 might just be one of the most unique scooters available in the country today. It almost seems futuristic when placed next anything else from its competition. There are no curves or flashy colors and graphics to be found here. The scooter follows a clean minimalistic and industrial sort of aesthetic. The front apron is flat and sloped just that little bit with the smallest of fenders on the small 10” 4 spoke alloy wheel. The apron is provided with a large square shaped halogen headlight jutting out with an LED pilot light shaped like a smile hidden below it. The indicators also use LEDs and glow like flowers. The top yoke for the handlebars is encased in a boxy fairing. The space behind the mirror is well thought out with a fuel filler cap and a cup holder, sharing space with a keyhole shutter and a 12V socket. The instrumentation is digital with a round display and lighting that can be changed according to your liking. Moving to the side view, we are faced with a clean boxy side panel with just the name of the scooter written in tiny modern font near the bottom. Even the rear foot pegs hide in the footboard to leave the façade totally clean. This also opens up extra space under the seat which means there is enough space under the seat to store a full face helmet. The taillight is similarly a huge rectangle with an industrial looking grab handle. The scooter is just as compact as it looks with a length of 1620 mm, width of 620 mm and height of 1040 mm. The wheels are shrouded with 100/90 tires. Color options are also well sorted with many pastel shades that accentuate the bike’s design. A very good design that comes equipped with some very good features.  

The MotorStar Co-in125 is equipped with telescopic front forks with 2.3” of travel and a monoshock for the rear with 2.1” of travel. The seat is at a comfortable height of just 740 mm and high handlebars allow for a very comfortable riding position. The foot board is also very spacious. The handling is exactly as you’d expect from a scooter with 10” wheels. This is best suited for smooth urban roads and not much else. 1200 mm wheelbase make it reasonably nimble. 140 mm of ground clearance can is not a lot but is pretty much the norm in this segment. Stick to nicer roads for best results.

The MotorStar Co-in125 is powered by a single cylinder, air-cooled, 4-Stroke,  and 4V fuel-injected 125cc engine mated to a CVT. The engine produces a healthy 12 PS at 8500 rpm and 10 Nm of torque at 7500 rpm. This is very much sufficient for a scooter that weighs just 102 kg dry. The fuel tank has a capacity of 6L.

The front wheel is equipped with a disc brake while the rear is equipped with a drum brake.

The MotorStar Co-in125 is one of the most unique and modern scooters available in the country today.  It represents how far the company has come. Service and parts availability has improved a lot and affordability are still up there. Yes, it is a very urban-focused scooter and parts availability can be improved, but it still makes for a good proposition for the everyday commuter.
