2016 Manila International Auto Show: A Brief Timeline

MANILA: 2016 has started up and the auto enthusiasts across the country are once again geared up to witness the highly-anticipated Mecca of automobiles, the biggest motor show in the Philippines, the 2016 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS). The stage is all set with glam and glitter and automakers from all around the globe are storming the beautiful city of Manila along with their best vehicles and concept designs to showcase at the upcoming event.

The 2016 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) will mark its 11th presence in the South East Asian country, the Philippines. It is touted as an insatiable automobile extravaganza that will bring around with it a series of launches and upcoming vehicles from all across the globe. The event is set to be organised at over more than 30,000 square meters of indoor and outdoor exhibit floor areas at the World Trade Center (WTC), Metro Manila from April 7 - 10, 2016. The show itself was capable of gathering a massive crowd of more than 110,000 visitors along with participants in hundreds of number from all over the globe, under the 30,000 sqm hall of World Trade Center. The major launches received by 2015 MIAS included cars like 5 Door Mini Cooper, Subaru Legacy and Outback, Ford Everest, Mazda 2, 2015 Sorento SUV, and a lot more.

Some major facts around the glory of MIAS:

• 2016 MIAS is expected to showcase around 420 cars, along with 56 motorcycles at 272 booths from 148 companies.MIAS 2016 expects at least 112,000 attendees this year.
• The first Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) was also the country’s first large-scale car expo which occurred in the year 2005.
• The first 2005 MIAS was just an experiment whose results came out nice and well in the second MIAS, and since then, the MIAS has never looked back with a constant increase in footfall from single-to-double digits every year.
• The MIAS 2008 created another history by covering over 20,000 square meters of exhibition space that also made it the biggest motoring event of this country. The MIAS 2008 also attracted 76,800 maximum since its inception in 2005.
