MANILA: BYD Cars Philippines launched its entry into the local pickup truck segment inn the form of the Shark 6 DMO not too long ago. 

Not only does the nameplate offer notable performance but also allows its would-be owners to conquer almost any terrain sustainably, thanks to its hybrid powertrain.

Cosmos Black 

The BYD Shark 6 DMO looks elegant and powerful in Cosmos Black with the dark finish embodying both refinement and ruggedness.

Powering the Ayala-led brand’s latest offering is the BYD Super DMO setup, which (like all of the hybrid vehicles in the marque’s stable) takes an electric vehicle (EV)-first approach and primarily relies on two electric motors (permanent magnet synchronous motor) — front and back — and a 29.6 kilowatt-hour lithium-ion phosphate battery. 

Serving as its range extender or generator is a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine.
