2017 Volkswagen Polo images leaked
MANILA: As most of the prominent cars are getting their updated avatar, the German automaker is also gearing up to come up with its latest edition of Polo. Though the manufacturer has not revealed information about the upcoming hatch but, the 2017 Polo has been spotted in South Africa. The next-generation Volkswagen Polo is scheduled to make its world debut at the Frankfurt Show.
Just like most of the other upcoming Volkswagen cars, the 2017 Polo is also based on the MQB-platform. The interiors are not revealed in the leaked images but, it is expected that in order to meet the growing competition, the 2017 Polo will feature an improved cabin. The changes might include soft-touch dashboard fascia, strategic padding, and expensive looking trim elements. The front seats are sourced from the facelifted Golf. The equipment list includes new generation touchscreen infotainment systems, Park Pilot automatic parking and keyless entry.
The engine options will include a 1.0-litre TSI with different states of tune and the second option might be a 1.5-litre TSI that is still under development. The diesel options will include a 1.6-litre TDI turbodiesel and the currently available 1.5-litre TDI will be discontinued. Whereas, the Polo GTI might be powered by 147 kW 2.0-litre TSI or an improved version of the 1.8-litre engine. Transmission duties will be handled by 5-speed and 6-speed manual and 7-speed dual clutch on the higher variants.
Let’s wait for the Frankfurt Auto Show and see how the new Volkswagen Polo will turn out to be.
