GAC Motor Philippines has recently launched the M8 multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) in the country recently.

The luxurious people mover not only boasts elegant and advanced amenities for its occupants but its beautifully sculpted exterior also serves as a beautiful backdrop for its three sophisticated shades.

On that note, we check out the GAC M8’s three stylish hues to find out what best suits this posh ride.

Crystal White

Nope, not the Crystal White you were expecting.

This immaculately clean color befits the GAC M8 as it creates a beautiful pristine image of the Chinese carmaker’s luxury MPV. Noticeable in this white paint is its angular yet sexy lines as well as its eye-catching chrome appliques

However, its white finish best embodies how safe of a ride the GAC M8 is — after all, white cars (per most studies) are less involved in accidents compared to those that wear a different color.

The GAC M8 GX Master variant, for example, is equipped with upgraded safety features like seatbelts with pre-tensioners and force limiters as well as a crash-locking tongue. It also gets dual front supplemental restraint system front airbags, side airbags, side curtain airbags, and rear windscreen airbags. Further, the MPV also comes with a first aid kit and a tire repair kit as standard.

Giving its owners more peace of mind while on the road is a suite of advanced driver-assist systems, which include a surround-view camera system, an electronic stability program, hill start hold control with hill descent control, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, and lane departure warning, to name a few.

Powering the GAC M8 is a 2.0-liter TGDi engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission that sends 248 horses and 400 Newton-meters of torque to the front wheels. It is said that the same powerplant is shaded by the brand’s full-size sport utility vehicle, the GS8.

Temple Gold

GAC chose wisely when it selected Temple Gold as one of the colors to be included in the M8’s palette.

The rich and sheen effect of the said paintwork captures just how opulent the brand’s offering is. And while its large Lexus-like radiator grille, power sliding side doors, induction electric tailgate, and model-specific wheel rims do catch one’s eye — it’s what it has inside that will get Filipino car buyers switching to this newly launched show stopper.

Inside the opulent cabin of the range-topping model are two captain seats with electronic adjustment features, ventilation and heating, memory and massage functions, and a leg rest. Passengers can also enjoy its multi-color ambient lights, tri-zone automatic air conditioning, PM 2.5 sensors, and fragrance system.

And if that’s not enough, the GAC M8 is slapped with a 12.3-inch LCD instrument cluster and a 14.6-inch (10.1-inch for the base GL Master model) multi-functional touchscreen infotainment system. The latter has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto features with an audio and video system with navigation.

GAC also gave the M8 a wireless charging pad so passengers in the front row will be able to juice up their devices without the need to plug in a cord. And for those sitting at the rear, a wealth of charging ports are offered to help them recharge their smartphones and other handheld devices like portable gaming consoles.

Conclusion

No matter what color a buyer chooses, the GAC M8 sure delivers elegance, beauty, and power one will not easily find in today’s MPV offerings. That said, the three sophisticated colors — limited they may seem to be — can still answer the needs of the market that GAC is targeting.

The GAC M8 is available in two variants and is priced from P2.998 million to P3.948 million.
