BAIC PH May YTD 2026 sales show 10% growth

MANILA: BAIC Philippines sales for the first five months of 2026 reflected 10-percent growth, the company claimed.

Without sharing specifics, the UAAGI Auto Group-led automotive distributor mentioned in its statement that the growth reflected “sustained consumer confidence and growing demand for the brand's vehicle lineup.”

The firm attributed its positive retail performance to strong demand for hybrid and electric vehicles, which accounted for 93 percent of the brand’s total sales during the January-May 2026 period.

“This stands as a powerful testament to the exceptionally warm reception and growing enthusiasm that Filipino motorists have consistently demonstrated toward BAIC Philippines' latest lineup of innovative new energy SUVs, signaling a significant shift in local automotive preferences,” BAIC Philippines explained.

Providing the biggest share of BAIC Philippines’ May 2026 year-to-date retail churn was the B30e Dune, which held 69 percent of its overall sales during the period. This was followed by the B60 Beaumont (18-percent share).

Providing more fuel to BAIC Philippines output under the said timeline was the newly launched B40e Trailmaster rEV, which got sold out within its first month of sales.

Relatedly, BAIC’s sales at the recently-concluded 10th Philippine International Motor Show were 35 percent higher than what the company delivered in the Manila International Auto Show. This result, the company claimed, underscores the “effectiveness of BAIC Philippines’ expanding retail footprint and strengthened engagement with Filipino car buyers.”

Further, BAIC Philippines said it continues to strengthen its position in the Philippine automotive market by advancing its electrified mobility roadmap and expanding its vehicle lineup.

“Through UAAGI Auto Group’s strong network, aftersales capability, and nationwide support system, BAIC Philippines remains committed to delivering accessible, innovative, and future-ready mobility solutions for Filipino customers,” it noted.
