MIAS 2026: BAIC showcases B40e rEV Trailmaster in 6 pictures

MANILA: BAIC Philippines, under the distributorship of United Asia Automotive Group Incorporated (UAAGI), has showcased the recently launched BAIC B40e rEV Trailmaster at the 2026 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS). 

The said model is based on the B40, which was initially introduced in the market as the Ragnar and later as the turbodiesel-only variant of the Trailmaster at the 2025 MIAS. 

Now in 2026, the BAIC sport utility vehicle (SUV) has an electrified trim. So, what is this offering to prospective buyers? Let’s find out here.

BAIC B40e rEV Trailmaster: specs, features

Propelling the BAIC B40e rEV Trailmaster is a 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-four gasoline engine paired with a dual permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) setup. 

In total, this powertrain can generate up to 539 horsepower and 655 Newton-meters of torque. It also has an electronic-only range of 152 kilometers (km), and a total overall range of 1,200 km. The said figures are based on the China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC).

Apart from oodles of power, the model is touted for its off-road capability. Specifically, it has front and rear locking differentials. It also has several terrain modes, crawl control, and a ladder-frame chassis. 

Style-wise, the BIAC B40 rEV Trailmaster follows the familiar boxy and tough design of the B40 nameplate. It has chunky fender flares, hefty-looking bumpers, and geometrically-shaped LED lighting fixtures. 

A vehicle-to-load feature, provided by two 220-volt outlets, is more suitable for outdoor activities, each with up to 2.2 kilowatts of output. 

Inside the model is a well-arranged, five-seater cabin equipped with electronically adjustable front seats, automatic air-conditioning, an automatic parking brake, an ambient lighting system, and a panoramic sunroof. 

Other noteworthy interior features available to the BAIC B40 rEV Trailmaster include, but are not limited to: 

• 12-piece Infinity speaker set
• 12.8-inch infotainment display
• 12.8-inch passenger-side display
• 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster
• Electronic parking brake
• Drive mode selector
• Front cabin armrest

Safety-wise, the BAIC B40e rEV Trailmaster’s basic kit is what one would expect from a modern SUV. The aforementioned are further reinforced by advanced driver-assist systems such as automatic high beams, adaptive cruise control, lane centering, blind-spot monitoring, and rear-cross traffic alert - among others.

As of this publishing, the BAIC B40e rEV Trailmaster retails at P2.888 million. The said price includes a three-year roadside assistance package, a five-year or 150,000 km bumper-to-bumper warranty (whichever comes first), and a five-year or 150,000 km battery warranty.
