BMW i8 Spyder to Enter into Production Soon

MANILA: The BMW i8 Spyder concept which was debuted over three years ago, over Beijing Motor Show, will now be seen in its Convertible style soon. The coupe version of it are already standing in the showrooms and as per the confirmed news by company's new chief executive, the BMW i8 Spyder convertible is entering the production phase soon.

With not much information in hand about this production version, it can be said that shorter wheelbase, wraparound front windscreen, and concept of removable roof panels are some classic characteristics which we will confront in this version, just the way we saw in concept.

Another certain feature of this mid-mounted car would be a 1.5-litre Twin Turbo three-pot engine producing 231 hp and 320 Nm in combination with six-speed automatic gearbox. The supporting front-mounted electric motor is effective in producing 131 hp and 250 Nm. This adds up to total of 362 hp and 570 Nm which is enough to make it run from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds before going highest at speed of 250 km/h.

Thus, that’s for sure that the smart electric mobility is the next happening in the auto industry and the best part is this that the automakers are turning towards this flow where they are trying to combine performance and green technology effectively and smartly.
