BMW
In 2021, BMW presented its first high-speed electric bicycle (e-bike) called the i Vision Amby, which was a concept model showcased at the 2021 IAA Mobility (also known as the German Auto Show).
Photo from BMWPowering the e-bike is a 2,000 watt-hour (Wh) battery with an estimated range of up to 300 kilometers (km). It also has an anti-lock braking system optimized for bicycles, an automatic high beam assistant and brake light assistant, daytime running lights, and a set of 27.5 wheels.
Ford
Not too long ago, Ford released e-bikes inspired by the Bronco and Mustang nameplates.
Created in partnership with N+, the said two-wheelers are powered by 750-watt, hub-mounted electric motors capable of generating some 85 Newton-meters of torque.

Their notable features include a full-color digital cluster, a motorcycle-style seat, a dual suspension system, and a set of Pirelli Scorpion Enduro M hardwall tires (Bronco e-bike) or Pirelli Angel GT semi-slick tires (Mustang e-bike).
Porsche
Back in 2023, Porsche expanded its e-bike lineup and introduced the eBike Cross Performance and eBike Cross Performance EXC.
The German carmaker tapped e-bike specialist Rotwild to equip the former with the following features:
- Shimano EP-801 motor
- 630-Wh battery
- Fox Factory suspension
- Electric 12-speed Shimano rear derailleur

- Rotwild B220 Flatriser 35 handlebar
- Fox 34 Float Factory suspension fork
- Magura MT7 brake system
McLaren
McLaren also dipped its toes in making mountain bikes with its Extreme and Sport e-bikes.
Per the British carmaker, these pair of two-wheelers were built by the same folks who worked on the Artura hybrid. As a result, the said two-wheelers boast notable features with the Extreme model getting a SRAM wireless XX Eagle Transmission 12-speed drivetrain as well as a RockShox Lyrik Rush RC front fork and a RockShox RS Deluxe Select+ rear suspension.

Meanwhile, the hardtail Sport e-bike uses a SRAM GX Eagle 12-speed, mechanical shifting drivetrain paired with a RockShox Pike Rush RC front fork.
Audi
Sometime in 2023, Audi released an e-bike, which was part of the carmaker’s Audi Genuine Accessories line.
Powering the e-bike is a Brose S-MAG 36-volt 250-watt motor and a Fantic Integra 36-volt battery.
