Bosch Car Service PH, ACMobility establish 1st EV, HEV Workshop

MANILA: Bosch Car Service Philippines, in partnership with ACMobility, has opened its first electric vehicle (EV) and hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) workshop in the country. 

According to the two entities, the establishment of the flagship facility marks a critical progress in supporting the Philippines’ transition to sustainable mobility and establishing Bosch Car Service as the nation’s premier independent EV service network.

“As the country continues to embrace electric and hybrid vehicles, dependable servicing becomes a non-negotiable part of the journey,” Bosch Car Service General Manager Geronimo Campilan was quoted as saying. 

“Through this pioneering joint development, ACMobility and Bosch Car Service are expanding access to reliable, expert EV care that supports the growing mobility needs of Filipinos. Together, we are building a stronger, future-ready after-sales ecosystem that gives EV owners greater confidence, convenience, and support throughout their ownership journey,” he added.

Comprehensive services

The newly-established EV and HEV workshop situated in Cavite offers comprehensive, bumper-to-bumper solutions for new-energy vehicle (NEV) owners. The network delivers a full suite of after-sales solutions, such as:

• Basic preventive maintenance and accessory installation
• Mechanical and electrical diagnostics
• Air-conditioning servicing
• High-voltage battery diagnostics, repair, and conditioning
• Software updates
• Warranty servicing for original equipment partners

During the workshop’s opening, Campilan toured members of the motoring media and shared job-specific tools needed to work on NEVs. These include gloves and plastic-coated wrenches that are designed to allow workers to safely handle electrical components. 

Further, the technicians themselves undergo rigorous global certification processes, including specialized training in high-voltage safety and EV and HEV systems at Bosch’s dedicated training facilities to ensure every workshop delivers safe and expert care. 

“Electric mobility brings new expectations for service, safety, and technical capability, and we are committed to meeting that with the highest standards of expertise. Beyond the advanced tools and technology, we are equipping our workshops and technicians with the skills and confidence to stay competitive and future-ready as the EV market grows,” Bosch Philippines Managing Director Paulo Duarte said. 

Synergy with BYD NEVs 

During the opening ceremony, ACMobility Auto Care and Retail Head Steve Ginco told Zigwheels Philippines that there will be some form of synergy between Ayala-operated businesses. 

BYD car owners who will have their automobiles serviced in a Bosch Car Service EV and HEV workshop will have perks in the form of points or discounts. However, since the business is fairly new and the conglomerate is still in the process of integrating the said rewards, the actual amount is yet to be disclosed. 

“ACMobility is leading in the shift towards electrified mobility, and we add a lot of brands to our portfolio,” Ginco noted. 

“What we do in all the business portfolios that we add, we make sure that there is synergy for those customers who are serviced by ACMobility, including, of course, BYD… In the near future, we will be inviting — now we already have the capacity — we will start to offer our synergy with BYD car owners. If they have their cars serviced in one of our outlets, they will get either perks, points, and of course, discounts that they deserve,” he added. 

“But how much, we don’t know yet, because we just launched now, and we need to integrate it into the system of our infrastructure and into the business of BYD,” Ginco concluded. 

Aside from BYD Cars Philippines, Bosch Car Service Philippines and ACMobility also teamed up with brands like VinFast, Jaecoo, and Aito for its EV and HEV workshop.
