COVID-19 vax site at LRT-1 Central Station opens

MANILA: LRT-1 operator Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) has opened a COVID-19 vaccination site at the LRT-1 Central Station in Manila yesterday. 

In partnership with the Manila Health Office, the LRT-1 Central Station site will administer first doses and booster jabs to individuals aged 18 years old and above.

The booster jabs are available to all, even to those who received their first and second vaccine doses from other local government units or facilities, according to a release. 

The LRT-1 Central Station vaccination site is open from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.. The site is slated to operate for one week, the release added.  

To register for vaccination at the Central Station, individuals need to do so at the Manila City's vaccine website.  Registering at the website will generate a QR code, which individuals need to present to the staff at the vaccination site

Representatives from Manila Health Office present at the site can assist individuals in registering online. 

The LRMC previously opened a vaccination site at the LRT-1 Baclaran Station in Pasay City. Almost 400 individuals got their second dose and booster shots against the virus there, according to a release. 

The Baclaran Station vaccination site will be open on February 23, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m, the release announced. 

To date, LRMC said it has achieved a 99.7% vaccination rate and 60% for booster shots among LRT-1 employees. The company has been awarded the Safety Seal highlighting the company’s compliance with COVID-19 protocols.
