DOTr supports resolution to temporarily prohibit unvaccinated from non-essential travel

MANILA: The Department of Transportation (DOTr) supports the Resolution that temporarily prohibits unvaccinated individuals from traveling, except for essential goods and services, while Metro Manila is under Alert Level 3, the agency said in a statement. 

The same prohibition is also applicable to individuals aged 17 and below, senior citizens, pregnant women, and persons with comorbidities. All people under the prohibition will need to show proof that justifies their travels. 

The Resolution applies to land, sea, and air public transport. 

The rule was issued by the Metro Manila Council, which was approved by the mayors of the cities and municipalities in the National Capital Region amid rising COVID-19 cases. 

The DOTr and its attached agencies shall closely coordinate with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority on the enforcement of the said policy.
