Lamborghini Fenomeno breaks cover

MANILA: Automobili Lamborghini has pulled off the curtains on the Fenomeno at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering.

The name of the Raging Bull marque’s newest product was coined from courageous and renowned bull fought in Morelia, Mexico in 2002.

The aforementioned product will be offered in limited-run fashion as tribute to the brand’s tradition of producing exclusive models that began in 2007 with Reventón. Not yet offered for sale, the Lamborghini Fenomeno will only have 29 examples.

Per Automobili Lamborghini the model takes the company’s “most representative design elements to the extreme” and shall be equipped with the “most powerful that the company has ever created.”

“The Fenomeno introduces the most advanced technical solutions in our history, pushing the boundaries of performance and design, while honoring the values and achievements that are a fundamental part of our DNA,” Automobili Lamborghini Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Stephan Winkelmann was quoted as saying.

“Unveiling the Fenomeno at The Quail, a prestigious celebration of automotive excellence in our largest global market, offers the perfect setting for our customers to experience this few-off masterpiece in person,” he added.

The Fenomeno is the third Lamborghini model that was launched at the said event in the previous years. The other two are:

• Centenario Roadster version
• Countach LPI 800-4

Exterior

The Lamborghini Fenomeno sports a new “design manifesto”:  an unexpected, hyper-elegant theme in a longtail-proportioned super sports model. It comes with a single center line silhouette complemented by the reduced puristic lines and cleaner high-performance surfaces.

Notable exterior features of the vehicle include:

• Front hood with two large intakes
• Original light signature of the daytime running lights that pays homage to the horns of the logo’s bull
• Carbon-fiber front splitter
• Carbon fiber fins
• New door design
• Hexagonal exhaust terminal

The car runs on single-nut forged rims wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza Sport tires (265/30 ZRF21 for the front and 355/25 ZRF22 for the rear).

Clients can also enjoy having bespoke hues for their Lamborghini Fenomeno, thanks to the Lamborghini Ad Personam program, which offers numerous color combinations — both for the bodywork and the interior. Through this, customers may choose from a palette of over 400 exterior colors and an almost unlimited range of interior options.

Interior

Meanwhile, its cabin showcases the latest interpretation of Lamborghini’s “Feel like a pilot’ philosophy.”

The driving position and race steering wheel offer an engaging driving experience, while the three digital screens have also allowed most of the physical buttons to be eliminated. 

Other noteworthy parts of the cabin are:

• Cabin fiber portions (center console with sport pad, door panels, bucket seats)
• Ambient lighting system

Powertrain

Powering the said offering is a mid-mounted, naturally-aspirated, 6.5-liter, V12 engine and three electric motors (one of which is integrated within the new eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox).

The drivetrain configuration can deliver a total output of 1,065 horsepower and 725 Newton-meters, which allow the vehicle to do the following:

Acceleration (0-100 kilometer per hour [kph>)	2.4 seconds
Top speed (in kph)	350

This churn makes the Fenomeno the fastest Lamborghini produced.

Providing the vehicle’s stability and controllability are CCM-R Plus brake system with carbon-ceramic discs and sport-tuned suspensions.

The combination of the most powerful V12 in our history, breathtaking design, superior aerodynamics, and cutting-edge technologies such as extreme lightweight construction make the Fenomeno the most extraordinary super sports car of our time,” Winkelmann said.
