Is the end of the line for the current-gen Toyota GR Supra near?

MANILA: Orders for the current-generation Toyota GR Supra in Australia will cease starting this month.

According to the brand’s arm in the Land Down Under, the performance coupe’s existing version will be discontinued after six years of being available there. The company noted that since the aforementioned model became available in their showrooms, it attracted over 1,400 buyers as of mid-2025.

Toyota Australia Vice President Sales, Marketing and Franchise Operations Sean Hanley expressed firm belief that the current GR Supra will “leave a lasting legacy in the automotive industry.”

“The GR Supra already had a sterling legacy when the current generation launched in 2019, and we’re pleased to say it has exceeded the expectations set by its predecessors,” Hanley was quoted as saying.

“Its pulse-raising performance, sleek coupe design and thrilling dynamics helped raise the profile of our GR portfolio, helping to pave the way for other exciting models like the GR Yaris and GR Corolla,” he added.

Customers in Australia looking to get GR Supra are encouraged to speak to their preferred dealer before closure as stock is limited.

To note, the Toyota GR Supra is equipped with a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine that can dish out:

Maximum output (in horsepower)	382
Peak torque (in Newton-meters)	500

Power is sent to the Toyota GR Supra’s rear wheels via six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission with the assistance of a limited-slip differential.

Toyota GR Supra in PH

Meanwhile, the Philippine market need not to worry (yet) about the model being discontinued.

In an interview, Toyota Motor Philippines Assistant Vice President for Marketing Services Andrew Ryan Ty said that they have yet to receive information regarding its possible discontinuation in the country.   

“We’ll provide updates as they appear,” Ty told Zigwheels Philippines.

Unlike in Australia where it has a special edition iteration, the Toyota GR Supra is only offered in manual and automatic gearbox variants. Their pricing varies depending on the color: from P5.552 million (Prominence Red), P5.612 million (Black Metallic 2), to P5.652 million (Matte Avalanche White Metallic).
