Mazda CX-60: What’s new for 2026?

Mazda Philippines has introduced the updated CX-60 for the Philippine market. Unlike most updates in the market, however, the said nameplate didn’t just get additional tech or new color options. Instead, Mazda opted to equip the sport utility vehicle (SUV) with new components that are touted to deliver tangible improvements in performance and ride comfort. 

So, what are the improvements made to the Mazda CX-60 for the model year 2026? Let’s find out here. 

Improved suspension system

One of the primary improvements made to the 2026 market CX-60 has to do with its suspension system. Specifically, it was equipped with softer rear springs, new bump stops and dampers, and a firmer front suspension. Its front knuckle mounts were also relocated.

Altogether, Mazda said that these new and improved suspension components can result in a more compliant ride. 

Gearbox, steering upgrades

Apart from ride quality, Mazda also improved the CX-60’s driveability by updating its gearbox and steering system. 

For its gearbox, it now has smoother shifts. It also has better transitions between internal combustion engine and electric motor power, resulting in a more engaging and responsive drive. 

Per the Japanese car brand’s local arm, the aforementioned goes with the CX-60’s front-engine, all-wheel-drive layout. This arrangement provides a balanced workload distribution between its front and rear axles. 

Better sound insulation

Further improving the riding experience aboard the 2026 Mazda CX-60 are enhancements to its sound insulation. 

Specifically, it now boasts thicker and denser sound insulators. These are found on the vehicle’s trunk side trims, dashboard, and underneath the SUV’s upper front cowl.

Mazda CX-60: other specs

Propelling the Mazda CX-60 are two engine options: a 3.3-liter hybrid turbocharged gasoline mill or a 3.3-liter turbodiesel HEV. 

At maximum, the diesel option can produce up to 250 horsepower (hp) and 550 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque. The CX-60’s gasoline engine, meanwhile, can dish out 280 hp and 450 Nm of torque. 

For both variants of the Mazda CX-60, power sent to all four of its wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. 

Ensuring ride quality for the CX-60 is a front MacPherson strut and multi-link rear suspension systems. The model also depends on front and rear disc brakes for stopping power.
