Lexus is ASEAN 2026 official mobility partner

MANILA: Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP), through its luxury arm Lexus Philippines, is the official mobility partner of the upcoming ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) 2026 summit, to be held in Cebu City from May 6-9, 2026. 

For this role, TMP and Lexus will field a lineup of electrified nameplates, specifically the hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) variants of the LS sedan and the LM multi-purpose vehicle (MPV). 

Per TMP, the fleet of Lexus LS500h and LM350h units will ferry luminaries and heads of state from ASEAN members across various locations. Apart from Cebu, this also includes parts of Metro Manila. In doing so, Lexus and, by extension, Toyota demonstrate their regional leadership in electrified mobility and sustainable transport. 

“By serving as the official mobility partner for ASEAN 2026, we aim to demonstrate how secure, seamless mobility can coexist with a deep commitment to nation-building and a sustainable future,” TMP President Masando Hashimoto said. 

“Through our electrified lineup, we are providing more than just transport for the region’s highest level engagements, but we are also showcasing a forward-thinking pathway to electrified elegance that prioritizes both quiet refinement and our collective responsibility toward a greener, more resilient ASEAN,” Hashimoto added. 

Besides stepping up as the mobility partner for ASEAN 2026, TMP is also supporting the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC) by lending several vehicles to serve as shuttles for key events, including the ASEAN-BAC 106th Council Meeting, the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit, and the ASEAN Business Awards.

Lexus LS500, LM350

For those curious about the Lexus models to be fielded as transport solutions during ASEAN 2026, the LS500h is the HEV variant of the LS sedan, while the LM350h is the HEV trim of the Alphard-derived LM luxury MPV.

As of this writing, the Lexus LM350h retails at P7.168 million for the seven-seater version, and P10.728 million for the four-seater version. 

Propelling the Lexus LM350h is a 2.5-liter hybrid engine that can produce a total system output of 248 horsepower (hp). Notably, the model’s internal combustion unit is a four-cylinder gasoline double-overhead cam (DOHC) engine paired with two electric motors. 

The LM350h’s ride quality, on the other hand, is ensured by the Lexus Adaptive Variable Suspension, which continuously adjusts damping for each wheel in real time. The model likewise comes equipped with a robust, advanced driver-assist system, and a cushy interior with plenty of creature comforts. 

Meanwhile, the Lexus LS500h retails at P9.138 million in the local market. Under its hood is a 3.5-liter V6 engine capable of delivering up to 354 hp. 

Other notable mechanical components of the LS500h include an air-suspension system, as well as an electric-only mode for low speeds. 

Similar to the larger LM350h MPV, the LS500h also boasts a lot of advanced safety technologies and luxury comfort touches.
