LTO offers new option to claim plastic-printed DL cards

MANILA: The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has launched a new option for motorists to get their plastic-printed driver’s license faster.

According to LTO Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor Mendoza II, the AksyON THE SPOT hotline is designed to help those who have applied for a driver's license to get their plastic-printed version.

Motorists who do not have their plastic-printed version may take a photo of their paper-printed driver’s license and send it to the Viber platform of AksyON THE SPOT 09292920865.

“We will immediately print their driver’s license here in the Central Office and we will also give them the option if they want their plastic-printed driver’s license through our accredited courier service,” Mendoza claimed.

Based on the LTO data, five percent of those affected by the backlog are yet to claim their plastic-printed driver’s license. Such a result prompted the LTO chief to appeal to the affected motorists to claim their plastic-printed driver’s license.

Per Mendoza, no motorists should have a paper-printed driver’s license since the backlog was already addressed.

“We already downloaded a sufficient supply of plastic cards down to the licensing offices across the country. Kaya dapat lahat ay may plastic-printed driver’s license na dahil wala na pong backlog dito (So, everyone should have a plastic-printed driver's license because there is no more backlog here),” he explained.
