Initial Nissan Navara Pro PHEV, Primera EV fleet enters PH

MANILA: The initial units of Nissan Navara Pro Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) and Primera EV have arrived in the Philippines ahead of their official local introduction.

Products of the Japanese partnership with Chinese automaker Dongfeng, the two models—which made their ASEAN premiere at the 10th Philippine International Motor Show last June—are set to make their official launch on November 6.

In a statement, Nissan’s local arm said that the arrival of the duo “introduces new powertrain options for two established Nissan nameplates, each carrying its own legacy.”

The full-electric executive sedan serves as the rebirth of a familiar name after 18 years while the pickup truck builds on the toughness that has defined the Navara nameplate but with a plug-hybrid mill.

“Innovation has always been part of Nissan’s story, shaping how we approach mobility across generations,” NPI President Yoshinori Kanazawa.

“The Primera EV and Navara Pro Plug-in Hybrid continue this heritage in the Philippine market, and we invite everyone to join us on November 6 as we officially launch both models.”

Examples of these two models are currently being displayed within the brand’s booth at the 14th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit until October 24 happening at the SMX Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City.

“With the Primera EV and Navara Pro Plug-in Hybrid featured at this year’s PEVS, Nissan offers a glimpse of its upcoming electrified models while contributing to the event’s theme, ‘Driving ASEAN Forward,’ and the broader push to build an integrated electric mobility ecosystem across the region,” NPI mentioned in a statement.

Early on, Kanazawa expressed trust and confidence in the two yet-to-be-revealed models, saying that “regardless of where the model comes from, all of Nissan’s products are high quality.”
