Meet the Cars Equipped To Control Chinese Pollution – BYD Qin EV300 & e5

MANILA: Auto industry since long has been working hard on creating cars that not only help people commute better but also that are easy on nature. Talking of which, we have an emerging Chinese brand in the picture - BYD. This automaker has a large fleet of cars present in the Philippines market that is mostly used for the commercial purposes. Apart from its cars, BYD is also known for its great and innovative promos that are both profitable and tempting. Now, in the pursuit of increasing its market reach, BYD has launched two electric vehicles- Qin EV300 &  BYD e5. You all must be wondering, what's so great about these EVs from BYD that make them different from the rest of the lot available in the market.

Well, like rest of their EV siblings, they too are aimed at reducing the sky-high pollution count, but the twist comes when we talk about their range capacity. Were the rest EV's falling in its price range dies off after running for an average distance of 150-200 km, BYD claims that its new soldiers wearing the EV badge can go strong in the field even after a good 300 kms chase. Also, this China native automaker feels that its 'range card' can be the game changer, bringing in fortunes the company has been long waiting for.

But it's not just the range area where BYD's two new creation stands out, as both are stuffed with some great features adding to the company's brand value. To the said list are included -

• BYD's Insta-Pure Technology, that works on the pollution control front, purifies the air entering the cabin from all kinds of pollutants. This is done by reducing Particulate Matter rate by 2.5 values.
• To your surprise, both the vehicles are also capable of generating enough power that is sufficient to run basic power tools and cooking appliances. (Picnic cars, they can be called)
• Now, something for the power hungry crowd out there. Though both BYD Qin EV300 and BYD e5 run on motors but that doesn't stop them from participating in the performance game. Both the BYD electric cars house a high-speed permanent magnet synchronous motor within, pumping out a maximum power output of 217 PS along with a peak torque figure of 310 Nm.
• The said motor is capable of pushing the speedometer from 0 to 100 kmph mark in a significant time frame of 7.9 seconds.

Note - The company is a lot vocal about its 300 km single-charge range, which many took as a prank. Just to clear the air and make everybody believe, BYD is offering test drives or more of a proof ride (we can say). At one such event, a customer reportedly achieved a stunning range of 349.5 kms on Qin EV300.

Both Qin EV300 and e5, for now, are launched exclusively for the Chinese market. BYD Philippines is numb about their debut, which we expect to happen soon in the near future.
