Mercedes-AMG starts selling GT 63 S E Performance Coupe

MANILA: Mercedes-AMG — the high-performance subsidiary of Mercedes-Benz — has started the sale of the GT 63 S E Performance Coupe.

Considered as the brand’s top model, the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance Coupe has a starting price of €217,770 (approximately P13.45 million).

The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance Coupe is powered by the brand’s 4.0-liter V-8 bi-turbo engine paired with its proprietary electric drive unit to produce a maximum power output of around 816 horsepower with peak torque of up to 1,420 Newton-meters.

Mercedes-AMG noted that the powerplant is mated to an AMG Speedshift MCT 9G automatic transmission.

Per the German auto firm, the aforementioned setup sends the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance Coupe from a standstill to 100 kilometers per hour (kph) in just 2.8 seconds, making it the fastest of any Mercedes‑AMG series-production model. Top speed is at 320 kph.

Complementing the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance Coupe’s powertrain is the marque’s AMG Active Ride Control suspension with semi-active roll stabilization, active rear-axle steering, and the AMG high-performance ceramic composite brake system.

Standard equipment includes Nappa leather seats, automatic climate control, an 11.9-inch Mercedes Benz User Experience touchscreen multimedia display, and a wireless charger.

Extensive customization is made possible for customers looking to personalize their rides.

Mercedes-AMG is offering would-be owners of the GT 63 S E Performance Coupe the Manufaktur program where they can select exclusive appointments that range from the car’s paintwork to various exterior and interior fittings.

Opting for the said service to give the car a more unique look, of course, adds to the base pricing.

The range for the Mercedes-AMG GT includes nine new exterior paint colors, seven interior color variants, and additional unique trims like Nappa leather with diamond quilting and deep-dish floor mats.

Prices for custom packages range from €357 (around P23,170) for the AMG aluminum trim) to €7,021 (roughly P433,814) for paintwork in Manufaktur Copper Orange Magno.
