Michelin PH launches Pilot Sport 5 performance tire

MANILA: One of the top tire manufacturers in the world, Michelin, just introduced its Pilot Sport 5. This fifth iteration of its high-performance Pilot Sport line is aimed at aficionados of sports cars and high-performance sedans.

This recently released tire's advanced characteristics enable drivers to maximize and enjoy their driving experience over longer distances. 

“With the Michelin Pilot Sport 5, Michelin further strengthens our complete and best overall high-performance Pilot Sport range, with ‘Performance Made to Last’ being our key differentiator," Michelin Philippines Commercial Director Daesy Natalya said,. 

"What’s more, the Michelin Pilot Sport 5 goes one step further in aesthetics, as evidenced by its winning of the 2021 Contemporary Good Design Award — one of the world’s most prestigious international design awards," the Director added.  

Confidence and long-lasting grip is brought by the tire's Dual Sport Tread Design technology, as it provides optimal control with exceptional grip and braking performance on both dry and wet surfaces.

The technology is a dual-sided functionalized tread design that draws inspiration from racing, with the external side having firm blocks for greater traction on dry roads and the inner side having deep grooves and a high void ratio for improved traction on wet roads.

The Pilot Sport 5's grouping of deep longitudinal grooves that discharge water into broad transverse channels intended to effectively redirect water away from traffic lanes is called Groove Clear. 

For lasting performance throughout the tire’s lifespan matched with precision and exceptional responsive driving, the Pilot Sport 5's Dynamic Response features a hybrid aramid and nylon belt for optimum transmission of steering instructions onto the road. 

Meanwhile, the MaxTouch Construction maximizes the tire’s contact with the road and evenly distributes the forces of acceleration, braking, and cornering — delivering longer tread life without sacrificing performance. 

For style and substance, the Michelin Pilot Sport 5's Premium Touch Sidewall Design creates a sleek, matte-black aesthetic with a velvet-like micro texture. On the other hand, the Wear2Check, an easy-to-find and easy-to-read tread wear indicator, is designed to facilitate monitoring and to help drivers to optimize the longevity potential of the tire. 

In the Philippines, the Michelin Pilot Sport 5 is now available in 43 dimensions from 17 to 21 inches at Michelin’s authorized tire dealers across the nation.
