MPT South aids Carina-hit communities, partners

MANILA: Metro Pacific Tollways South (MPT South) recently provided aid to its tollway’s host communities devastated by the recent Typhoon Carina (international name Gaemi).

Last August 5-6, the Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC) delivered 600 relief packages to affected host communities, including Barangays Pulvorista and Aplaya in Kawit, Talaba II in Bacoor, Tambo, Don Galo, and San Dionisio in Parañaque, and 201 in Pasay City.

Additionally, the toll operator also handed over 100 relief packages to its valued partners such as the Philippine Navy and the Alliance of Concerned Transport Organization (ACTO), underscoring the company's commitment to supporting a wide network of stakeholders.

“We hope these relief packages will help families and communities see that there is always hope, even in these trying times,” MPT South Vice President for Communication and Stakeholder Management Arlette Capistrano said.

“It is essential that we support each other in any way we can,” she added.

The company noted that such initiative demonstrates the company's “unwavering commitment to its corporate mission and responsibility to support its host communities, especially in times of crisis.”

“MPT South, together with the people who revolve around it, embodies the strong sense of 'Bayanihan' – a uniquely Filipino spirit of community, cooperation, and mutual aid – and is dedicated to sharing this spirit with those in greatest need,” the firm added.
