Nissan Ariya Nismo launched in Japan

MANILA: Nissan Motor Corporation has launched the Ariya Nismo in Japan.

The brand’s flagship electric vehicle (EV) is now available in a Nismo variant, which offers enhanced speed, comfort, and handling. Japanese customers can choose from two available trims: the B6 e-4ORCE and the B9 e-4ORCE.

Per Nissan, the former features a 66 kilowatt-hour (kWh) battery and produces a maximum power output of 362 horsepower (hp) with 560 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque. The latter, on the other hand, is fitted with a 91kWh battery and puts out as much as 429hp with 600Nm of pulling power.

The tuning done by Nismo allows for powerful acceleration while still maintaining control and stability. An exclusive Nismo driving mode is available for the two special Nissan Ariya variants, which maximizes response when even greater performance is desired.

Car buyers looking to drive home the Nissan Ariya Nismo will be treated to a handful of premium components, which include brake pads that provide excellent stopping power in a wide range of temperatures and aluminum wheels that strike a perfect balance between width and weight to ensure superior aerodynamics and cornering ability.

In addition, would-be owners of the Nissan Ariya Nismo can expect the EV to have an upgraded chassis that works to optimize front and rear suspension performance. Further, the Nismo-tuned e-4ORCE provides outstanding traction in all conditions and sportscar-like line tracing.

Reflecting its performance-oriented nature are a host of exterior features, which include an aerodynamic body. The updated bodywork is comprised of exclusive bumpers, rear spoilers, and door moldings. The body kit’s stylish design reduces drag and generates greater downforce at higher speeds.

Inside, drivers and passengers alike will enjoy a blacked-out cabin. The pitch-black hue gives the interior a sporty, high-quality appearance.

Nismo-branded appointments found inside the vehicle include special seats that grip and fit, creating a sense of being one with the car. The Nismo-exclusive Bose Premium Sound System — activated when the Nismo mode is selected — produces a sound evocative of Formula E racing that boosts driving excitement.

Sales of the souped-up Nissan Ariya is expected to commence in June.
