PH-spec GAC GS3 Emzoom breaches 1.5k-unit sales milestone

MANILA: In less than one year after its introduction in the country, GAC Motor Philippines was able to breach the 1,500-unit mark for the GS3 Emzoom.

In a span of 11 months, the Astara Philippines-led distributor had a total of 1,569 GAC GS3 Emzoom examples sold — retailing 320 units for May 2024 alone.

To recall, the subcompact crossover had its local inception in June 30, 2023.

“The team at GAC Motor Philippines welcomes this new milestone with immense pride and elation, as we are able to deliver lasting, positive impact to the Filipinos with state-of-the-art, high-caliber vehicles, such as the Emzoom,” Astara Philippines Brand Head for GAC Motor Philippines Franz Decloedt said.

 “This achievement proves that an increasing number of Filipinos are choosing GAC for the outstanding value and benefits our vehicles offer,” he added.

To make more customers better appreciate the vehicle, the firm is offering exclusive discounts on the GS3 Emzoom within the month. Those who will avail themselves of a unit via cash purchase can get discounts as much as P70,000 valid starting tomorrow (June 7)  until the end of the month.

The GAC Emzoom is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline direct-inject mill mated to a seven-speed wet-type dual clutch transmission. The powertrain combo can produce up to 177 horses and 270 Newton-meters.

Relatedly, GAC Motor Philippines recently welcomed the opening of new dealerships in San Fernando, Pampanga, Iloilo City in Western Visayas, Sumulong Highway in Cainta, Rizal and General Santos City in Mindanao.

On track with their goal of putting up a 35-dealer strong network, the company shall soon open outlets in Santa Rosa, Fairview, Bacolod, Kawit, Congressional Avenue, Mindanao Avenue, Valenzuela City, and Marilao.

As of last April, GAC Motor International recognized its Philippine arm to have the fastest-growing market worldwide — lauding the efforts of Astara Philippines since last year. To note, GAC Motor Philippines recorded a remarkable 274-percent growth in retail sales for the first quarter of 2024, comparative to the same period of the previous year.
