Start your e-engines as Toyota GR GT Cup Round 2 happens this weekend

MANILA: Toyota Gazoo Racing will be staging the second leg of the 2021 Toyota GR GT Cup this coming weekend.

The Leaderboard Challenge will be livestreamed on the official Facebook page of Toyota Motor Philippines tomorrow, May 28. Meanwhile, the Heat Race will be held on Saturday, May 29.

The first leg of the esports event generated thrills and excitement as racers across all categories showed off their e-motorsport prowess in vying for the prestige and honor of becoming the fastest e-racer in the country.

For the second round, the participants will be virtually brought to the Tokyo Expressway — East Outer Loop, a fictional city circuit that appears in Gran Turismo Sport. It has a length of 7.3 kilometers with five sectors and 12 turns. Racers will be challenged by the circuit’s varying changes between ascents, flat surfaces, and high-speed corners.

The points that will be earned by the second leg finishers will be multiplied by 1.5, giving higher chances for the racers who want to catch up in the leaderboard. Winners will receive exciting prizes including high-tech gadgets, gaming gear, and smart home devices.
