Suzuki launches all-new Dzire

MANILA: Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has launched the all-new Dzire.

Unveiled in India, the nameplate’s latest version is expected to boost the success that the model has enjoyed since its inception in March 2008. 

To date, the nameplate has sold more than 2.7 million units in the said country alone since its introduction.

Here are some of the notable details about the all-new Suzuki Dzire.

The latest offering measures 3,995 millimeters (mm) long; 1,735mm wide; and 1,525mm tall — with a 2,450-mm wheelbase and 163-mm ground clearance and up to 382 liters of trunk space — depending on the option chosen.

Exterior

Boasting a more modern look, the subcompact sedan features a wider grille, bolder headlamps with daytime running lights, projector fog lamps, new wheel designs, an electronic sunroof, aero boot lid spoiler, shark fin antenna, and bold character lines at the side — complementing its overall progressive silhouette.

It runs on either 14-inch steelies or 15-inch alloys.

Interior

Occupants are welcomed with a black-and-beige color scheme as seen in the seats, dashboard, and door panels. It also comes with urbane satin accents, chrome trimmings, footwheel illuminations.

It is also fitted with a multi-information display that is a mix of digital and analog, and its seven- or nine-inch floating infotainment system (Android Auto and Apple Carplay-ready; matched to a two- or four-speaker set-up) is bordered in gloss black trims.

Powertrain

The all-new Suzuki Dzire is powered by a 1.2-liter Z12E engine — either in pure gasoline or gas and compressed natural gas (CNG) formats.

On paper, the pure gasoline-fed mill can deliver 80 horsepower (hp) and 112 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque while the bi-fuel powered version, 69 hp, and 102 Nm.

In addition, the mills are mated to a five-speed gearbox (either in manual or automated manual transmission).

Guaranteeing its deceleration and halts are the disc brakes at the front and drums for the rear.

Per Suzuki, while the all-new Dzire’s primary market will be India, the model will be exported to the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, and ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) regions subsequently.

With that, this could mean that the Suzuki Dzire that is being offered in the country might get an update soon.
