Toyota Gazoo Racing PH eyes putting up ‘works team’

MANILA: Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) – led by its president Masando Hashimoto – is eyeing to create a works team that will take part in various motorsport disciplines locally.

With this, motorsports aficionados might see drivers bannering the Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippines logo in their favorite events nationwide.  

According to TMP Assistant Vice President for Marketing Services Andy Ty, the company is looking at participating in other local motorsport competitions as part of its bid to create communities.

 “We are interested in exploring different disciplines as a way to cultivate the community there,” Ty shared with Zigwheels Philippines.

“Our GR Club race is one step on the enthusiast side, and we want to further build that in other racing disciplines through their communities,” he added.

As of posting, TMP has yet to share the competitions that they are planning to join in as well as the criteria that will determine who will be part of Team TGR Philippines.

The results of the ongoing 2025 Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippines might be the jump-off to some of the drivers that will be part of the first TGR Philippines works team. 

Additionally, with the TMP president himself finishing the races last weekend at the podium of the Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippine Cup 2025, we might see him at various motorsports competitions — after all Toyota’s slogan is “Start Your Impossible.”
