Toyota Land Cruiser Prado Parades with 2.8-liter Diesel Engine

MANILA: The Japanese automobile icon, Toyota Motors has launched an all-new turbodiesel power plant that would deliver more power and at the same time reduce fuel consumption. The engine will be called as 1GD-FTV, 2.8-liter turbocharged in-line four cylinders and will also be seen in the top variants of 2016 Hilux. With this, Toyota thought that they should also update the icon of the SUV segment, the Land Cruiser, by fitting the same engine.

The land Cruiser has always been updated now and then so to give the best to its lovers. Two years back, it welcomed significant improvement on the exterior and interior front, and now it gladly receives the new power plant. This turbo-diesel engine sprinkles out a maximum power of 177 PS and torque of 420 Nm in between 1400 and 2400 rpm when mated with 6-speed manual transmission. The Prado variants with 6-speed automatic transmission get an additional torque of 30 Nm in the range of 1600 to 2400 rpm. The performance figures of this engine are impressive too with 13.8 km/l as fuel efficiency and 194 g/km of CO2 emission.

This upgrade may increase its lovers as there are some people who don't like this SUV because of its hefty appearance. As of now, it's not yet sure if Toyota Motors Philippines will offer the same high performance blessed engine to the Prado in the country, but the launch of 2016 Hilux in the month of August is certain.
