Here’s how VinFast could set up its e-scooter dealership in PH

MANILA: The electric scooter (e-scooter) division of VinFast has showcased its dealership and showroom in Vietnam. 

On that note, here is how the electric mobility brand might set up its e-scooter showroom in the Philippines.

3S Dealerships 

For flagship locations, VinFast e-scooters will likely offer 3S (sales, service, spare parts) solutions to provide would-be owners a one-stop shop for all their “green” transportation needs. 

That said, there would be a dedicated display area where the e-scooter roster will be displayed. In Hanoi, Vietnam, motorcycles are displayed both in and out of the store, allowing customers to check out the electrified motorbikes, whether they are simply passing by the facility or purposefully dropping by the building. 

By showcasing the e-scooters in both an indoor and outdoor setting, buyers can check out not only the various colors of their preferred model (in both natural and artificial lighting), but also try out how the two wheeler’s ride height and overall weight when sitting atop the saddle. 

In both settings, sales agents can easily assist customers with queries about the VinFast e-scooter of their choice. It can also provide the salesperson an ideal venue to showcase the features of a particular model the customer is interested in. 

For example, illumination can better be visualized when inside the showroom. On the other hand, the strength of the brakes can better be displayed and experienced with the tires making contact with the actual pavement. 

For those seeking to purchase spare parts, the VinFast e-scooter dealership Zigwheels Philippines was able to visit had a reception area where owners can inquire about the components they need. 

Should the same layout be done for Philippine facilities, customers will be treated to a modern-looking, well-lit area with comfortable seating where they can wait for personnel to search for the part or parts they need to keep their vehicles running in good condition. 

As for the service area, the dealer the correspondent visited had a spacious workshop with three working bays. Here, technicians are able to do anything from periodic maintenance to major repairs — like electric motor replacement.

Lounge area 

Those waiting for their units to be released, or those having their VinFast e-scooters worked on, can wait in a lounge area. Adding such a space brings “car dealership” vibes to the e-scooter store as it provides customers with a place to stay comfortably. 

Not only are there seats, but some small tables are set up too, which will be helpful when signing documents. A fridge with some refreshments is on the ready with cool drinks. 

Battery-swapping post 

Just outside the VinFast e-scooter dealership in Hanoi was a battery swapping post where owners of models with battery-swappable devices can change their batteries in a few seconds. 

Further, VinFast E-Scooter Philippines President Ireneo Fabros told members of the motoring media and key opinion leaders that the company targets some 30,000 battery swapping stations in the country, which will initially be available on the said dealer locations. 

The VinFast Viper in particular (which is one of the three models to be launched in the Philippines soon) has slots for two batteries. 

One battery weighs approximately 12 kilograms and charging time to 100 percent will be around four and a half hours. 

A single battery is able to provide an estimated range of 80 kilometers (km) with a single charge or about 150 km if one is using two batteries.

VinFast e-scooter launch date 

VinFast’s two-wheeler arm is set to launch in July, with pre-orders for its initial offerings to start in June. 

With that in mind, we could see these dealerships popping up in the Philippines in the moving months.
