Moto riders get free Shell oil on World Motorcycle Day

MANILA: In celebration of World Motorcycle Day last June 21, Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation gave one free liter of Shell Advance AX7 motor oil to each motorcycle rider who gassed up in select mobility stations.

Over 5,000 motorcycle riders received free liter of Shell Advance AX7motor oil after fueling up with at least P150 worth of Shell V-Power gasoline. The Shell Advance AX7 is a semi-synthetic oil developed for more efficient use of gasoline and smoother ride. It is formulated with Shell Active Cleansing Technology that helps prevent dirt particles from sticking together to form deposits inside the engine. It guarantees that the motorcycle engine generates high power and torque even under stressful road conditions to improve control and provide excitement and comfort throughout the ride. It also reduces the engine noise and vibration.

Shell Advance AX7 is best combined with the Shell V-Power to achieve a more high-powered performance. Shell V-Power is formulated with Dynaflex Technology which improves acceleration, provides better fuel economy, and delivers an overall smoother ride. Shell Fuels Brand Manager Jerome David described the Shell V-Power as the company's best performance fuel for motorcycles.

According to motorcycle rider Alvin Flores, the free oil promotion of Shell helped them get more mileage while reducing their gas expenses. He said, “Maswerte po kami na naka-avail kami ng libreng langis sa halagang P150. Malaking tulong na po, lalo na ngayong panahon na naghahanap kami kung saan makakatipid. (We are lucky to have a chance to avail this free motor oil for only P150. This is of great help to us, especially now that we are looking for ways on how to save money.)”

Motorcycle rider Agustin Estrada also thanked Shell for the free motor oil that he received, saying, “Malaking tulong ito at malaki ang matitipid dahil nasa P303 din ang one liter na AX7. Ikakarga ko nalang ang halagang natipid ko sa pagbili ng langis. Malaking tulong sa aming mga motorista ang mga special promotion and discounts ng Shell para sa amin. (This is a great benefit for us as it helped us save a lot of money since the AX7 is worth around P303. I can use the amount of money that I have saved in this promo in purchasing more oil in the future. The special promotion and discounts that Shell offers to motorcycle riders are always a big help to us.)” Estrada also said that he uses his motorcycle for his everyday livelihood.

Some Shell mobility stations also gave away premium items such as fuel vouchers, biker accessories, and helmet during the World Motorcycle Day.

In a statement, Shell Marketing Delivery Manager of Mobility Arvin Obmerga said, “We recognize the agile, reliable transport that the motorcycle provides, especially to Filipinos who want a speedy and safe ride. We are committed to offer our motorcycle riders quality fuels and lubricants that will power up their engine, reduce road risks by guarding it from materials that can clog it, and ultimately lengthen the lifespan of their bikes.”

The increasing number of motorcycle riders in the country these past few years has been remarkable. The motorcycle has become the primary mode of transport for many during the COVID-19 pandemic as it allows people to travel safely, while even serving as a source of income for some.

Shell continues to acknowledge the unique needs of motorcycle riders. In 2020, it launched the Shell Bida Biker fuel lanes to provide a safer and more convenient service to the two-wheel riders. Shell stations also offer premier motorcycle fuel products as well as free services such as helmet and motorcycle seat cleaning.
