Changan CS35 Max

The update doesn’t stop with the Changan CS35 Max’s exterior design, as its interior layout also welcomes several modern changes. Gone is the CS35 Plus’ outdated infotainment system, replaced by a 10.25-inch touchscreen display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The higher-spec Luxe features a 6-speaker Sony sound system, while the base Lite gets the standard 4-speaker counterpart. The Luxe trim also comes with a wireless charging pad for enhanced passenger convenience.

Meanwhile, owners of the CS35 Max are treated to a driver-centric cockpit, which consists of a 12.3-inch instrument cluster (7-inch for the Lite variant), a multi-control steering wheel, and an aircraft-like gear lever. 

In terms of comfort and practicality, its cabin is roomy and can effectively accommodate five passengers. The Luxe trim comes with sport-inspired leather seats, while the Lite trim gets the fabric counterparts. Regardless of the material, this SUV’s seats offer good cushioning and support for everyone on board. The Luxe trim features a panoramic moonroof with a rain sensor, while the Lite trim gets the standard moonroof counterpart.

In terms of dimensions, the Changan CS35 Max model line measures 4,540 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width, and 1,620 mm in height. This SUV also comes with a 2,715-mm wheelbase.

Design-wise, the Changan CS35 Max looks like a sportier and more aggressive version of the CS35 Plus. It features angular curves and sharper character lines around its body. At night, it displays an assertive flare, courtesy of its LED automatic headlights, which kind of resemble a sharp boomerang. It also gets a pair of fog lights for better visibility. This SUV sports an imposing black grille with a unique pattern and a rugged-looking bumper with pointed edges. 

Its sporty crossover-esque side profile is complemented by its 18-inch alloy wheels. Similar to the front end, its rear design also exudes aggression and confidence. At the back, it features sharp LED taillights and another pair of fog lights. A spoiler and a diffuser also add more depth to its overall appearance on the road. According to an international source, the Changan CS35 Max comes with a MacPherson Strut independent suspension at the front and a Multi-Link independent-type at the rear. Both variants of the Changan CS35 Max are powered by a 1.5L turbocharged Bluecore engine that delivers a maximum power output of 180 hp and a maximum torque of 300 Nm. This SUV comes mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission system and utilizes a front-wheel drivetrain. 

For its price point, it also offers five drive modes: Eco, Normal, Sport, Race, and Smart. Taking all of these into account, the CS35 Max delivers respectable performance out on the open road. It can effectively perform quick overtakes and brave through steep inclines. 

In terms of safety, the Changan CS35 Max model line is equipped with rear parking sensors, a rear camera, and a tire pressure monitoring system. The Luxe trim also comes with 6 airbags, a built-in recorder, adaptive cruise control, as well as a 540-degree camera. 

In terms of braking, this SUV comes with front ventilated discs and rear solid discs. Its braking setup is also supported by an anti-lock braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution, vehicle stability control, hill-hold control, hill-descent control, and an electronic parking brake with auto hold.
