Toyota Urban Cruiser

Consistent with its smart, modern exterior design, the Toyota Urban Cruiser features a cabin loaded with high-tech amenities. Upfront, it features a two-toned dashboard with a stylish black and brown contrast. The driver gets a 10.25-inch TFT multi-info display, an electronic power steering wheel with multiple switches, and a modern-looking rotary shifter. 

Meanwhile, all passengers can enjoy a 10.1-inch infotainment display that is equipped with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and is connected to a 9-speaker JBL sound system, which delivers an immersive sound experience inside the cabin. The Urban Cruiser also comes with four USB charging ports (front: 2, rear: 2), an accessory outlet, and a wireless charger.

In terms of space, the front row is a nice place to be in, while the second row has adequate space for the average Filipino passenger. However, taller and larger individuals might find its second row a bit cramped due to its low headroom and limited legroom. But, on the plus side, its synthetic leather and fabric seats offer good support and ergonomics for everyone on board. For aesthetics, this BEV also comes with an ambient lighting system and a panoramic moonroof.

For starters, the Toyota Urban Cruiser measures 4,285 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width, and 1,635 mm in height. This crossover also has a wheelbase of 2,700 mm and a minimum ground clearance of 180 mm.

The Toyota Urban Cruiser features a modern EV design, which looks very smart and confident wherever it goes. Its smooth front fascia is illuminated by angular LED headlamps with LED DRLs, which emit an assertive glare at night. It also comes with fog lamps for increased visibility at all times. Underneath, a black bumper adds a rugged touch to its overall demeanor. 

Moreover, it flaunts a two-toned crossover silhouette, accentuated by black cladding, muscular wheel arches, and a floating roof-like design. This BEV displays that modern dynamic silhouette through its 18-inch alloy wheels. 

Meanwhile, its modern EV personality carries over to its rear. It sports futuristic-looking LED tail lights with a high-mounted brake light and another F1-style brake light underneath. A sleek black panel is also placed in the middle of the tail lights, adding more depth to its overall hindlook. And, like its front end, its rear also gets a black plastic bumper.

The Toyota Urban Cruiser comes with MacPherson Struts at the front and a 3-Link setup at the rear. Its setup is on the stiffer side of things, which allows the driver to confidently hit sharp turns or corners. In the city, it is also very agile to maneuver even through tight traffic and narrow streets. However, the trade-off for this stiff suspension is a bouncy ride quality on bumpy and uneven concrete roads. But, at sensible speeds, this crossover can still deliver a supple and pleasant riding experience for all passengers.

The Toyota Urban Cruiser runs on a front-mounted synchronous electric motor that delivers 174 hp and 193 Nm of torque. Its single motor is powered by a 61.1-kWh Lithium-Iron Phosphate battery pack, which offers a 475-km driving range. This crossover utilizes a front-wheel drivetrain.

The Urban Cruiser is impressively swift off the line. Its all-electric powertrain offers smooth and instantaneous power delivery. It might not have the highest driving range in its segment, but this crossover still has more than enough to make daily city commutes more enjoyable and cost-efficient in the long run.

In terms of safety, the Toyota Urban Cruiser is equipped with seven SRS airbags, a blind spot monitor, rear cross traffic alert, eight clearance and back sonars (front: 4, rear: 4), pre-collision system, automatic high beam, lane departure alert, adaptive high beam system, lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and a panoramic view monitor.

This BEV utilizes ventilated discs for both front and rear braking. Its braking setup is also supported by an anti-lock braking system, vehicle stability control, and hill-start assist control.
