Toyota Urban Cruiser: 5 fascinating colors

Many would agree that Toyota Motor Corporation took a while to jump onto the electric vehicle (EV) bandwagon. While some major brands were quick to commit to full electrification, the Japanese auto manufacturer explored and preached a multi-pathway approach to carbon neutrality. 

That is why we don’t see too many Toyota EVs here in the country. In fact, we only have two in the Philippines, and one of them is the Urban Cruiser — a rebadged Suzuki e-Vitara.

What does it have to offer Filipino motorists? We take a quick look at its five fascinating colors, which happen to reflect some of its notable features. 

So to help car buyers make a more informed decision, here are the hues of the Toyota Urban Cruiser. 

Grandeur Grey 

Grey often represents durability and reliability, characteristics that many Filipino car buyers look for in a vehicle, which they plan to keep for years to come. 

Built to answer that need, the Toyota Urban Cruiser packs mechanical components that make it a capable companion, such as MacPherson struts at the fore and three-link suspensions at the rear. 

In addition, it gets ventilated disc brakes at the front and solid disc brakes at the back for quick halts and smooth deceleration. 

Splendid Silver 

We usually associate silver with wisdom and technological advancement. Hence, it is only fitting to talk about the Toyota Urban Cruiser’s intelligent appointments. 

Providing the driver with relevant information is a 10.25-inch instrument cluster with a thin-film transistor screen. It is complemented by a similarly-sized infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, with audio sent to a nine-speaker JBL sound system. 

For added convenience, it comes with a wireless charger as well as an automatic single climate control system to keep occupants cool in hot weather. 

It also has several electronically controlled appointments, like its eight-way power seats with lumbar support function, power side mirrors, power windows, and power door locks. 

Would-be owners can also enjoy a keyless entry system and a push-start ignition system for ease of use. 

Arctic White 

Arctic White gives the Toyota Urban Cruiser a cool-looking panda colorway and echoes its safety features, as white cars — according to studies — are less involved in crashes. 

That said, its safety features include:

This green color is arguably the author’s favorite, making the Toyota Urban Cruiser look robust. 

It even has exterior appointments that reinforce that look and give the compact electric SUV a more macho attitude. 

The fascia is equipped with sharp-looking lights and a lower front bumper that adds to its character. Its side profile is highlighted by 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 225/55-series tires. 

From this angle, one can also appreciate its 2,700-millimeter (mm) wheelbase and 180 mm ground clearance. 

At the back, it has a roof-mounted spoiler with a high-mount stop lamp, angular lighting, and a manual tailgate. 

Celestial Blue 

Blue power, which translates to electric propulsion, is undeniably the trend — especially with rising fuel prices. And the Toyota Urban Cruiser is a good option for those transitioning from internal combustion-powered vehicles to electrified ones. 

Power comes from an electric motor that spins the front wheels. And while the output numbers are not officially published by Toyota Motor Philippines, it does make available the vehicle’s overall range, which is 475 kilometers in a single charge.

The Toyota Urban Cruiser is sold in a single variant with a sticker price of P2.135 million.
