Wave110 is available in 3 different colors - Orange, Silver Metallic and Black.
Positioned above the most affordable and basic under-bone bike from Honda, the Wave 110 Alpha, the Honda Wave 110 has been made available in the Philippines' two-wheeler market to cater to the lower commuter end of two-wheelers. The basic-in-nature Honda Wave 110 has been made available in one standard variant, which is priced at PHP 56,900 and is being offered in a choice of three color options – Candy Energy Orange, Matte Summit Silver, and Pearl Metallic Black.
Given that the Honda Wave 110 caters to the cost-conscious audience whose sole purpose from a two-wheeler is to do basic commuting from one place to another, the Honda Wave 110 carries a very basic styling, which somehow looks too plain and dated in today’s day and age.
At the front, the Honda Wave 110 has been given a short and compact size for its rakish front apron, which flows all the way to the floorboard through the sides in an almost slim and vertical manner. The headlamp cowl too looks quite basic but has been adorned with a multi-reflector headlamp as well as clear lens turn indicators on either sides. The long front fender attached just below the front apron tries to make the front end of the Honda Wave 110 look a bit sharp, though.
The side profile of the Honda Wave 110 looks a bit better with a sense of style to it, thanks to the presence of mild body graphics on the rear side body panels. The central tunnel over the frame here on the Honda Wave 110 carries a dual-tone finish for the back portions of the front apron. While the engine as well as cycle parts surrounding it have been treated with an all-black finish, the large spoke wheels do make the Honda Wave 110 look a bit archaic.
The rear side body panels flow upwards while carrying a very basic design, and end up in a small triangular tail lamp cluster with tapered edges, which also integrates clear lens turn indicators along with the main tail lamp. Both the simply styled rear fender and single-piece aluminium grab rail are other bits of the Honda Wave 110 which add to its basic visual appeal.
The instrument console of the Honda Wave 110, shaped in the form of a human eye, is an all-analog affair, with the unit having circular dials for the speedometer and odometer in one unit and fuel gauge placed offset to it.
The basicness of the Honda Wave 110, apart from its styling, is quite reflected in its under-the-skin mechanical components as well. The under-bone bike has been equipped with simple hydraulic telescopic forks at the front and a pair of hydraulic coil springs at the rear. The bike has drum brakes on both wheels, which do a decent job in bringing this light-weighted bike to a halt. The 17-inch tall wheels, as well as light kerb weight of just 94 kg, make the Honda Wave 110 a very easy two-wheeler to ride and control.
The Honda Wave 110 carries forward the tried and tested four-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, 110cc engine from the lower positioned Wave 110 Alpha. Coupled to a basic 4-speed manual gearbox, the engine on the Honda Wave 110 makes 8.3 PS of maximum power and 8.49 Nm of peak torque output. The engine is simple in construction but has over the years impressed a lot with its reliable nature. With a claimed fuel efficiency of 55 kmpl, the Honda Wave 110 is one of the most fuel economic two-wheelers on sale in the country.
The Honda Wave 110 is one basic commuter bike, to begin with, so expecting sophisticated safety features from it will be too much. Though, the bike does get a secured key shutter mechanism for the ignition keyhole when it comes to safety.
The Honda Wave 110 might lose on desirability owing to its very basic design and feature setlist, but it manages to impress highly with its durable and reliable mechanical components as well as easy to ride nature.
