Kawasaki CT150 Review 2024
The Kawasaki CT150 is one of the products from the company’s commuter family, though it does take things to be a little sportier. What makes this bike sporty is that it has its configuration like any other performance motorcycle, thanks to the 150cc engine and the four-valve setup.
However, despite this setup, the motorcycle is like a toned down version with the engine delivering lower power figures but a best-in-class mileage. Plus, the company has even managed to keep things interesting by making the bike be very retro-ish in the designing elements. It primarily competes against the likes of the Yamaha SZ and the Honda TMX125 Alpha.

Kawasaki CT150 Design
The Kawasaki CT150 does have a very retro-styling appearance mated to its commuter build. It looks like a bike from the 1980s, thanks to the round headlamps up front and the metallic colour on the forks. The wheels get the spoked treatment, far away from the in-vogue alloys.
The fuel tank is slim and has the least amount of contours, and so does the midsection body. The turn signal indicators are round. One fascinating aspect about the styling of the motorcycle is that the dual shock absorbers are given a secondary unit too. This means, there are four shock absorbing springs at the rear, each with 125 and 100 mm stroke for a high ground clearance.
It has an analog console with a round dial for the speedometer. This is one aspect of the bike being thrown into the pit as a downsized version of the bigger Kawasaki W175.
CT150 Ride & Handling
By now, you might already know what the Kawasaki CT150 is capable of. Everything about it is just so calm and composed, and so is the ergonomics. The ride is very upright and does not strain any part of your body, not even the slightest. Plus, the long single seat makes sure that pillion comfort is on the high as well.
The suspension offers good ground clearance, which saves the underside of the bike in case you come across any bad bumper on the road. Moreover, with 11 litres of fuel tank capacity, the bike does turn out to be good for long rides due to its high fuel range.
Kawasaki CT150 Engine & Fuel Consumption
The Kawasaki CT150 is built with a very finely tuned engine. However, this does not mean that engine is as powerful as any other 150cc naked or sports bike. The 144.8cc single-cylinder engine comes with four valves and an air-cooled setup, which makes the motor run stress free during your entire commute.
The total power production through this engine is 11.4 hp at 7,500 rpm along with a peak torque of 12.3 Nm, which comes at just 5,000 rpm. Power is sent down to the wheel via a 4-speed constant mesh gearbox, which is as smooth as any other commuter in the range.
CT150 Braking & Safety
For the braking department, the Kawasaki CT150 has drum units for both the wheels, which measure the size of 130 mm. The halogen headlamps encased in a round housing proper offer great illumination with its reflectors and are adjustable to high or low beam too, which is a great option to be had during the nights. The tail section light is also of the bulb type with a red housing.
Kawasaki CT150 Verdict
The Kawasaki CT150 is a wonderful motorcycle to be had in the commuter bike range for multiple reasons. First, it has a bigger engine than most of its competitors, which is always a big plus point.
Secondly, despite the big engine, the price factor has been kept in check as it is as affordable as other 125cc models. Plus, the mileage is also on the higher side compared to any of its competitors, thanks to the superior tuning of the engine with better inflow and outflow of air and the thin tyres that get minimum traction from the turf.
Finally, the dual suspension setup for the rear and the amazing retro appeal does make the motorcycle one of the best in the segment, if not the numero uno best.
