Recent Updates of Kawasaki Z1000 R Edition

It was in the year 2017 when Kawasaki introduced the R Edition of its naked steer bruiser, the Z1000. The company has claimed this edition to be Euro4 compliant and that too without compromising on the power and torque figures. Also, the Z1000 R Edition has been embedded with some superbike level trinkets like a set of Brembo 310 mm floating disc brakes with lateral grooves that helps in efficient heat dissipation and flat Brembo M50 monobloc calipers. Also, the ECU is revised to deliver smooth power curve.

Further, the instrument panel now gets a gear position indicator with adjustable shift light rev counter. As for the color options, the R Editon is offered in Metallic Spark Black and Metallic Graphite Grey. Differentiating it from the standard model, the R Edition gets special body graphics along with the Z logo embossed on the seat.

The Kawasaki Z1000 R edition is a leisure sports bike, which was just designed to be meaner and beastly than its predecessors. Recently launched in the Makati city, the bike stands strong against its opponents like the Suzuki GSX R 1000 and gives them a few serious aspects to work on.

The Z1000 R, powered by a 1,043 cc four-stroke engine, gives a lot of benefits to the rider on both highways and on the city streets. Admirers of high-powered sports bikes love the way the bike roars through the streets with aggression and the fierceness of a beast. The bike is the perfect option for the urban riders, who love roaring and tearing through the streets, enjoying the riding experience at the same time.

Being designed like a beast, the Kawasaki Z1000 R edition really gives a lot of attention to the styling and its fierce attire. The chassis is an aluminium twin-tube to give it stability and the amazing handling prowess. The R edition comes with upgraded graphics, which give it a more raw look than its predecessors. This edition sheds all its flourishes to highlight its functionality of the parts. The Sugomi styling used by in the graphics, evidently make the bike look a lot more fierce and radiate a palpable energy.

The front Bi-xenon projector headlights give it a beastly look, which is much craved for by the admirers of the Z1000. The bulkiness in the front, which descends to be sleek in the rear, traditionally belonging to the Z family, give the bike a very muscular look. The digital instrumentation offers at-a-glance information, which gives the bike a techy touch.

Ride & Handling

A bike with this amount of power and the smooth transmission is expected to give a great ride and handling experience to the riders. As of the Kawasaki Z1000 R edition, the ride and handling segments are taken care of with every bit of excellence used in the engine. The pair of 17-inch front and rear alloy wheels are sure to handle the bike with ease.

The front suspension offers a 41 mm inverted fork which comes with stepless compression, rebound damping, and spring preload adjustability. This will make sure the ride does not get bumpy on uneven roads and streets with high traffic. The rear suspension features an Ohlins monoshock shock absorber which helps even more with the ride comfort and stability.

Engine & Fuel Consumption

The Kawasaki Z1000 R fuels a 1,043cc four-stroke, liquid-cooled fuel-injected engine which comes with four cylinders. Being the source of a huge amount of power, this machine can generate a maximum of 140 horsepower at 11,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 111 Nm at 7,300 rpm. The acceleration of the bike can be enjoyed physically with the help of the intoxicating intake howl.

The transmission consists of a six shift gear assembly and a wet multi-plate clutch, which functions so smoothly while shifting at high speeds. The smoothness of handling this immense power, generated by the engine, carried out by the transmission, is done with much perfection.

Braking & Safety

The Kawasaki Z1000 R edition comes with a lot of safety measures that make the powerful rides safer. The front wheels come with a dual disc with Brembo M50 monobloc callipers while the rear features a single Brembo M50 unit to give the bike an incredible stopping potential. To be precise, the front disc brakes are of 310 mm, while the rear has of 250 mm, which sure will be of good use when required.

The ground clearance and the seat height offered is 125 mm and 815 mm respectively, which will give the rider a great grip and control over the bike. A good grip will be very necessary on a heavy bike at high speeds.

The Kawasaki Z1000 R edition gets the same features and components as the older Z1000. But in addition to these, it gets a package of Brembo M50 monobloc callipers, special disc brakes, and an Ohlins monoshock suspension at the rear. All of these components help in making the ride more convenient and comfortable. The disc brakes offer an incredible stopping power and the suspension will keep the rider comfortable on bumpy rides.

However, the exceeding weight of the bike does make it a problem in controlling and handling while on stop-start traffic.
