Here are the GAC Emkoo’s 3 tempting trims

Crossovers have become one of the most sought-after models in the market, thanks to their ability to combine the driving dynamics of a sedan while offering improved utility due to their larger size. 

And one of the hottest models to hit the segment is the GAC Emkoo, now offered with either a traditional powertrain or a hybrid system. 

On that note, we’re going to take a look at the nameplate’s three tempting trims to find out which variant best suits your budget, style, and motoring needs.  

Before we begin, here are the GAC Emkoo’s measurements:

As one could see, the GAC Emkoo offers good road presence with its wide body and decent ground clearance. The good wheelbase also contributes to its good ride quality, allowing its occupants to enjoy a comfortable journey. 

The said dimensions are shared by all three variants of the crossover. 

With that out of the way, here is a deeper look at the nameplate’s three available grades. 

GAC Emkoo GE 

The GAC Emkoo GE comes in as the base model of the crossover. On that note, it comes with some of the basic features offered by the vehicle. 

Exterior 

Outside, the GAC Emkoo GE gets LED headlamps with height adjustment, headlights on alarm, and follow-me home function. These lights work automatically, so owners can expect them to switch autonomously when entering tunnels or when going inside dimly-lit carparks. 

It also gets rain-sensing wipers, which is a plus. 

Onto its sides are electric hidden door handles that give the crossover a seamless look. These go well with the chrome trims on its windows and silver-hued roof rails, which give it an air of opulence. Conversely, the claddings on the vehicle’s wheel arches and lower doors create a contrasting sporty appeal. 

The GAC Emkoo GE rides on 18-inch wheels with a geometric pattern. These are shod in 235/60 radial tires. 

At the back, the model gets more sporty features in the form of aggressive-looking spoilers with an integrated brake lamp. The massive liftgate gets a decent-sized glass and is flanked by thin strips of tail lights. Further below is a large rear bumper complete with reflectors and a diffuser-like design. 

Overall, the entry-level GAC Emkoo model offers a mix of elegance and sportiness. That said, it may be a good choice for car buyers who want a daily driver that would feel right at home in the city and can look good when brought on spontaneous getaways during the weekend. 

Interior 

Inside, the GAC Emkoo GE mimics the crossover’s exterior aesthetics with a mix of tasteful and dynamic appointments. 

Greeting the driver are seats finished in fabric. On the other hand, the steering wheel gets leather upholstery (with perforated sections), along with buttons to control the crossover’s several features. 

Past the wheel is a seven-inch digital instrument cluster that displays relevant information, which includes the following:

Car buyers eyeing the GAC Emkoo GE will be happy to know that the same set of screens are fitted on the mid-spec and range-topping models, so they are not missing out in terms of in-car tech. 

The only difference is that the lowest trim only gets four speakers while the other variants get two more.

The GAC Emkoo Hybrid is basically the GL version fitted with a more eco-friendly powertrain.
