2015 Frankfurt Motor Show: Volkswagen Unveils The 265 PS Golf GTI Clubsport

MANILA: Volkswagen has revealed the Golf GTI Clubsport ahead of its global debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. Celebrating the 40th birthday of the awesome hatchback, the company came up with the special edition Golf GTI which offers more than 260 PS equipped with an overboost function that lets it go nearly 300 PS for 10 seconds.

Golf GTI Clubsport is available as a 3-door hatch and painted completely in Oryx White while the roof is covered under black finish. The roof color may be available in multiple color choices later on. It has been observed that the special edition gets new front and rear bumpers with a revamped rear diffuser. The 18-inch alloy wheels (optional 19-inch alloys) gives the hatchback a bold figure. The rear spoiler with high gloss black side mirrors and the distinct red grill trim is additionally added in the trim variants of the GTI model.

The interior is completely unique and smooth. The seats are partially upholstered in Alcantara while the steering wheel is completely wrapped in the premium material. There are also new feature buttonhs embedded on the instrument panel that gives the car a unique interior finish. Alcantara trim on the shift lever and customized floor mats with red stitching look amazing and upmarket.

The VW Golf GTI Clubsport is capable of delivering maximum power of 265 PS which 35 PS more than the regular GTI. It is mated with the standard 6-speed manual gearbox which makes it go easy on transmission and performance. Volkswagen claims that that the hot hatch can leap 0 – 100 km/h in just 6 seconds while the optional 6-speed DSG transmission makes it happen in just 5.9 seconds. The hatchback has a top speed of 250 km/h.

The major part of the special edition GTI is its overboost function which allows it to generate 290 PS of power. However, The extra power lasts for 10 seconds only.

The Company didn't released the dates yet for taking orders.
