MANILA: Here comes a good news from the renowned South Korean brand, Kia. The company is all set to roll out its high selling Kia Soul model with turbocharged engine later this year. Kia has released an advertisement which clearly states that a new turbo engine is in-line for the model. As of now, the commercial looks like the U.S. centric with hamsters playing guitars in City Park, New York but we expect that this engine can't be restricted to the American jurisdiction only and is sure to land on the Philippine soil soon after a test run in the U.S. So, if we go by the commercial, which is pretty obvious, the 2017 Kia Soul with a power booster is sure to arrive by the end of the year 2016.

If you are thinking the reason behind the launch of the turbocharged Kia Soul 2017 in the U.S., well, we also gave it a deep thought. Consider the sales of Kia Soul in the U.S. and you would not try to find more reasons for this launch there. This boxy drive is highly popular among the Americans and so the South Korean company has no reason to find any other venue better than this one; after all, Kia owes at least this much to its American loyals. This engine is recently plotted under the Hyundai Elantra Sport and 2016 Hyundai Veloster, though both of them are not available for sale in the Philippines automotive market as of date. Veloster with its turbo engine was recently showcased at the MIAS 2016 and the arrival is still due in the market.

With turbo booster, the 1.6-litre powermill of Soul may knock out 201 stallions of peak power along with 265 Nm of high torque, which indeed in comparison to the 1.6-litre VGT with 126 hp of peak power and 260 Nm of peak torque, is extremely enticing for any prospective customer who loves power. The styling doesn't look affected with this new change coming up.
