Android Auto now available for Chery Tiggo 7 Pro

MANILA: Chery Auto Philippines has made the Android Auto smartphone mirroring feature available in the Tiggo 7 Pro, due to "current owners’ demand and continuous tech development."

With Android Auto, a smartphone's capabilities can be operated via the Tiggo 7 Pro's 10.25-inch touchscreen. These capabilities include GPS navigation, music playback, and management of texts and calls.

Android Auto aims to minimize driving distractions by essentially having the driver or occupant's phone screen mirrored on the infotainment screen, displayed at eye level. This prevents the occupants from looking at his or her phone screen for calls, messages, or navigation.

To activate this feature, current Tiggo 7 Pro owners need to set an appointment with their Chery dealership or book an appointment via Chery Auto PH App, distributor UAAGI explained. The activation will be done by the dealership's aftersales staff for free, the company added.

Android Auto will also be available for other Tiggo models like the Tiggo 2, Tiggo 5x, and Tiggo 8, all of which currently use QD Link for Android connectivity. Chery will announce the availability of the phone mirroring tech for those models soon.

"We are always on the lookout when it comes to adapting technologies that make driving more enjoyable for everyone,"  UAAGI President Erroll Dueñas expressed. 

Aside from the infotainment screen, the Tiggo 7 Pro boasts a wealth of gadgets: Automatic tailgate opening, touch-panel AC controls, panoramic sunroof, multi-color ambient lighting, push-button electronic parking brake, N95 cabin filter, electronic gear shift lever, 360-degree camera, and tire pressure monitoring system.

The Tiggo 7 Pro is powered by a new-generation 1.5-liter  turbocharged engine, coupled with an all-new continuously variable transmission (CVT). Its suite of safety features include Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Electronic Brake Assist (EBA), Traction Control System (TCS), Hill Assist Control (HDC), Hill Descent Control (HDC), and Isofix child-seat tethers.

The SUV includes the carmaker's 10-year/one million-km engine warranty, a five-year/150,000-km general vehicle warranty, free three years preventive maintenance service (PMS) and roadside assistance.
