Aston Martin celebrates Vanquish's 25th year anniversary

MANILA: The Aston Martin Vanquish, the British sports car maker’s flagship V12 car, is now 25 years old. 

To note, the model initially launched in 2001, and was developed as a cutting-edge grand touring platform representing a “major leap in both design and technology” for Aston Martin. 

“Since its arrival 25 years ago, the Vanquish nameplate has been synonymous with something special; something ambitious, different, and daring,” Aston Martin Chief Executive Officer Adrian Hallmark said. 

“Over those years, Vanquish has grown into a true Aston Marin icon, and in 2026, it remains nothing less than a symbol of what this exceptional British marque is capable of creating. Like the fortunate owners who have chosen to add one, or more, of the three generations of Vanquish to their collections since 2011, I am immensely proud of what this model represents,” Hallmark added.

Aston Martin Vanquish: present day

The current version of the Aston Martin Vanquish sold locally was introduced in 2024. It retains a V12 powertrain, which now has a 5.2-liter displacement and a twin-turbo setup. At its maximum, this 12-cylinder engine produces up to 823 horsepower (hp) and 1,000 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque. Thanks to this output, the vehicle can accelerate from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in just 3.3 seconds. 

Notably, the latest Vanquish is a far cry from the earlier 2012-2018 version, which could produce up to 600 hp (Volante) out of a 6.0-liter V12 mill. 

Other noteworthy features of the 2024 model-year Aston Martin Vanquish include a bespoke chassis with carbon-fiber bodywork, carbon-ceramic brakes, “Thermo Louvres,” a “Kamm”- style rear design, and a set of 12-inch forged alloy wheels.

In the Philippine market, Aston Martin’s lineup of models consists of the following nameplates:

• DBX 707
• DBS Superleggera
• Vantage

The latest to have entered the local market is the DBX 707 - a high-performance luxury sport utility vehicle (SUV) that’s powered by a 679-hp 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8. This model was launched in February 2023.
