BAIC PH signs Paras family as endorsers

MANILA: BAIC Philippines has signed former cager and actor Benjie Paras, together with sons Kobe and Andre, as the brand’s newest ambassadors. 

Per the United Asia Automotive Group Incorporated-led Chinese auto marque, the partnership with the Paras’ is a natural alignment as BAIC continues to grow by connecting with Filipinos who value vehicles that are dependable, versatile, and ready for real journeys.

“Set in an intimate atmosphere, the event reflected the heart of the collaboration. It was not simply about a formal signing. It was about family, reliability, and the kind of strength that quietly supports everyday life,” BAIC Philippines wrote in a press release.

BAIC Philippines noted that Benjie places strong importance on comfort, reliability, and the ability of a vehicle to support his family’s lifestyle.

A key highlight of the partnership came from Andre Paras, who shared his personal experience after living with the vehicle ahead of the signing.

“I have been using the BAIC B30e Dune for about two weeks now, and honestly, I wanted to really test it right away. The moment I got it, I brought it straight to Tagaytay. That drive helped me understand what the vehicle is really about,” the actor stated, emphasizing how the experience deepened his understanding of hybrid technology and changed how he views performance. 

“Before, you would always look at engine displacement. Parang iyon ang basis mo for power (It seems that's your basis for power). But with HEV (hybrid electric vehicle), it does not matter as much anymore. You feel the power differently. It is smoother, more responsive, and more efficient at the same time,” he added. 

“For me, it is really about comfort and confidence. Iyong alam mong ready siya whether it is city driving or out-of-town trips (You know it’s ready whether it's city driving or out-of-town trips). After that Tagaytay drive, I knew it was something I can rely on,” Andre concluded. 

BAIC B30e Dune notable specifications 

For those unaware, here is a quick look at the specifications of the BAIC B30e Dune. 

Ideal for adventures both in and out of the city, the hybrid sport utility vehicle (SUV), it measures 4,730 millimeters (mm) long; 1,910 mm wide; and 1,790 mm tall. Distance between the wheels is 2,820-mm wheelbase and it is able to clear the ground by 215 mm. 

Approach angle is at 24.5 degrees, while departure angle is at 30 degrees. Finally, it has a wading depth of 450 mm. 

Exterior appointments include LED wraparound daytime running lights, robust claddings, blacked-out pillars, a pair of roof rails, a panoramic sunroof, and a set of two-tone 19-inch aluminum alloy wheels. 

Inside, it boasts comfortable upholstery, a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument panel, and a 14.6-inch floating infotainment screen with connectivity for Apple smartphones and mirroring capabilities for Android-powered devices. 

A dual-zone climate control system will keep occupants comfortable — even in hot weather. 

Power comes from a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine paired with, depending on the variant, either a single electric motor or two electric mills situated in the wheel axles. Power transmission is facilitated by a two-speed dedicated hybrid tranny.
