BYD produces 6th millionth NEV

MANILA: BYD has reached its six-millionth new-energy-vehicle (NEV) production milestone, which underscores its "unwavering commitment" to pioneering advancements in the electric vehicle industry.

The six-millionth NEV BYD built was the Bao 5 — a hybrid sport utility vehicle (SUV).

To recall, BYD just surpassed its five-millionth NEV milestone just three months ago. Rapid pace, according to the Chinese carmaker, allowed it to establish new benchmarks in production and sales.

In addition, BYD noted that it achieved a monthly sales record in October when it exceeded deliveries of 300,000 NEVs. The company’s reach goes far beyond just passenger cars and SUVs.

“Since 2010, BYD has been actively expanding its global presence, introducing new energy buses and taxis for public transit electrification. With a decade of dedicated efforts, BYD's electric public transport solutions now operated in over 400 cities across more than 70 countries,” BYD wrote in a press release.

In the Philippines, BYD’s lineup includes models like the Dolphin, Tang, Han, and the recently launched Atto3.
