Ferrari 488 GTB makes debut in Philippines

MANILA: The Ferrari 488 GTB has made its Manila debut officially at the Autostrada Motore showroom in BGC, an authorized Ferrari distributor in Philippines. The 488 is inspired from the 458 Italia and LaFerrari, as it shares a common styling. It carries the headlight accent from its predecessor as well. It is set to hit the luxury cars segment in Philippines.

The front fascia of 488 GTB comes with large air intakes and displays aerodynamic body. The air transmission system is channeled throughout the body with vortex generators. The tail pipes are positioned higher in order to facilitate proper exhaust. Also, the 488 generates 325 kg of downforce at 250 kmph, all because of the active aerodynamic system.

It is powered by a new 3902 cc machine, which is smaller in size in comparison to its predecessor 4.5-litre V8 twin-turbocharged engine. The new engine produces a maximum power of 770 PS and more than 40% torque than the previous 760 Nm. It is mated to a F1 dual-clutch gearbox with seven-speed transmission. The powerful engine takes only 3 seconds to accelerate from 0-100kmph. It holds a top speed 330 km/h.

Apart from the powertrain, 488 GTB comes equipped with massive dynamic controls including ABS and Ferrari Pre-Fill. It also gets a new update of the Side Slip Control System (SSC2) which helps controlling the active dampers. Inside, the 488 GTB comes fitted with a tachometer with LCD screens mounted in the centre. The dashboard and interior gets red and black colour theme. The rear side also features a racked windscreen which display the engine part.
