Gasoline to see slight rollback while diesel prices to climb this week

MANILA: Pump prices of diesel and kerosene will reflect increase this week.

As reported by the Department of Energy (DOE), the retail price of diesel is set to increase by P1.2 per liter, while kerosene will also see a price bump of P0.50 per liter. On the flip side, gasoline prices will roll back by P0.30 per liter this week

For reference, here are this week’s fuel price adjustments compared to the ones the DOE published last week:

Gasoline	P4.30 decrease	P0.30 decrease
Diesel	P2.60 increase	P1.2 increase
Kerosene	P1 decrease	P0.50 increase

Notably, this is the second week in a row where diesel and kerosene have seen a price bump. This is likewise the second week in a row that gasoline prices have decreased. 

As the DOE has explained, these price changes are based on the movements in the global oil market. If one remembers, the situation in the Middle East continues to brew, thus negatively affecting the global supply and prices of petroleum products. 

On the other hand, the DOE has assured the public that it continues to work in order to strengthen local oil supply.
