Geely Holding Group hits 4-M unit sales performance for the first time in 2025

MANILA: For the first time in its history, Zhejiang Geely Holding Group (ZGH) breached the four-million sales milestone.

Last year, the group — made up of Geely Auto, Lynk & Co, Zeekr, Volvo, Polestar, Lotus, Farizon, and Proton — delivered 4,116,321 units to customers in the previous year. This allowed the vehicle manufacturer to enjoy-percent rise in its churn for the full 12 months of 2025. 

Out of the overall retail performance, 2,293,099 examples that were bought from the aforementioned companies were electrified units — representing 56-percent of the group’s aggregate sales and reflecting a 58-percent increase year over year.

Last year, Geely Auto was able to turn over 3,024,567 vehicles to their respective clients around the world. Such figures showed an increase of around 39 percent year on year, setting the firm’s new record.

The growth was attributed to the company’s growing electrified vehicle sales and expanding presence worldwide.

In the new energy and electrified vehicle segment (which covers battery electric, plug-in hybrid and hybrid electric vehicles) Geely Auto’s sales almost doubled (90-percent increase) after handing over 1,687,767 units to buyers globally. Its sales rally was led the by the Geely Galaxy line, whose sales reach 1.23 million. 

Aside from that, Geely Auto’s global expansion accelerated last year and has become present in new mature markets — specifically in Europe, South America, and Australia — as exports grew to 420,097 units, with electrified vehicles exceeding 120,000 examples.

Meanwhile, Lynk & Co, rolled out 350,495 vehicles globally in 2025, which exhibited a 23-percent year-on-year increase.

Further, Zeeker’s sales output grew to 224,133 units while Proton Cars — of which Geely Auto Group controls 49.9 percent — experienced sales reaching 162,601 units.

It was also last year that sales of Volvo vehicles reached 710,042 — 323,294 of which are electrified products.

Moreover, Polestar had more than 60,000 (vehicles sold) around the world — experiencing a 30-percent growth.

Farizon continued to be the leader of new energy light-duty trucks in China for the fourth straight year as its retail performance there in the January-December 2025 timeline was at 162,019 — setting a new milestone in 2025 with the cumulative sales of over 500,000 new energy commercial vehicles since the brand was launched.

Additionally, ZGH noted that the Eletre (Lotus Cars’ first electric sport utility vehicle) saw a 30 percent rise in China.

2026 outlook

As it celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, ZGH vowed to fast track the integration of internal resources, deepen group-wide synergies, strengthen global brands, redouble efforts in technological innovation, and expand globally.

“Technology innovation will focus on core areas in new energy technologies, vehicle safety, intelligent connectivity, and full-domain AI. Geely Holding continues to expand its three-dimensional land, air, and space mobility ecosystem to create intelligent mobility experiences that exceed global user expectations,” the firm mentioned in a statement.
