Geely Motor PH locks in at 7k-unit sales goal for 2026

MANILA: Geely is eyeing to sell around 7,000 units in the country for 2026.

Geely Philippines Senior Sales Director Joey Zhu bared the company’s target in a recent engagement with local motoring journalists.

In line with this, the firm is set to launch multiple models in the country within the year. The portfolio will span sports utility vehicles, hatchbacks, and sedans powered by battery electric and plug-in hybrid mills as well as internal combustion engines.

The anticipated barrage of vehicle launches will start with the unveiling of a plug-in hybrid, which is probably the EX-5 EM-i. Per Zhu, the first product is set to offer a “premium interior and exterior design, along with an industry-leading super hybrid system.”

Geely EX-5 EM-i’s possible specs

While waiting, here are some bits that the expected model could have once it is offered in the Philippines.

The aforementioned product will likely arrive with the 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine paired with an electric motor and a 60.22-kilowatt-hour lithium iron phosphate battery. This mill can give:

Further, the model’s Long-Range variant is said to have a fuel efficiency rating of 22.72 kilometers per liter (kpl). However the test in Australia gained a Guinness World Record after clocking in around 26.11 kpl. 

Inside, the five-seater crossover features leather upholstery, a triple-screen layout (made up of a 10.2-inch digital gauge cluster, a 15.4-inch central touchscreen infotainment system, and a 13.8-inch head-up display (HUD). 

Other amenities that can be found within the vehicle are:

• Power-adjust/ventilated front seats
• Wireless smartphone charging pad
• Automatic climate control
• Keyless entry
• Digital rearview mirror
• Vehicle-to-load function
• Over-the-air software updates
• Flat-bottom steering wheel
• Panoramic sunroof
• Flyme Sound System (independent 1,000-watt amplifier and 16 speakers)
• Up to 2,065 liters of cargo space (rear seats folded)

Carrying the vehicle is the marque’s Global Intelligent New Energy Architecture (GEA) platform.

In terms of safety, the Geely EX-5 EM-i earned a five-star safety rating in the European New Car Assessment Program, thanks to its suite of safety and driver assistive technologies such as:

• Adaptive cruise control
• Lane-keep assist
• 360-degree view camera
• Rear-cross traffic alert
• Blind-spot monitoring
• Emergency maneuver assist

Complementing the targeted expanded lineup is the development of its dealer network, which is expected to reach more than 40 dealers nationwide.

Additionally, Geely built a 4,500-square-meter parts warehouse that holds $5 million (around P296,175 million) worth of parts and has 1.3 stock keeping units in inventory.

“Working with our partners, we have tripled operational efficiency—faster service, higher first-time fulfillment rates, and better stock accuracy. In 2026, we will take after-sales to the next level—improving service quality, reach, and customer satisfaction,” Zhu added.

In September 2025, the brand launched its Geely Owner Philippines, its official owner community to support local car clubs with online and offline events, exclusive benefits, direct communication, and fun experiences. 

“If you’re a Geely owner, invite fellow owners to join—and even start your own local group,” Zhu encouraged. “Geely Owner Philippines is your home—and we’ll always welcome and support you.”

In six years’ time, Geely has sold 30,000 units in the country. “That trust means everything to us,” Zhu emphasized, “and it gives us strong confidence as we prepare to bring exciting new models next year.”
