Subaru PH to bring Crosstrek e-Boxer Hybrid

MANILA: While others are teasing their upcoming offerings, Subaru’s local distributor already revealed that its main attraction for the Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) 2026 will be the Crosstrek e-Boxer Hybrid.

Based on the video posted over its social media, Subaru Asia was quick to announce that the model will be displayed at the four-day event happening on June 4-7 at the World Trade Center Manila.

To note, Motor Image Pilipinas Incorporated’s (MIPI) participation this 2026 marks the company’s first year as a member of the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI).

Per MIPI, the forthcoming local version of the Crosstrek’s electrified model builds on the nameplate’s "established success.”

Serving as an extension of the "One Life. One Subaru." brand manifesto, the 2026 Crosstrek is built for the individual who views their vehicle as a life partner capable of handling every spontaneous detour, from urban Manila commutes to rugged cross-country drives.

A 2.0-liter direct-injection engine propels the vehicle, delivering around 154 horsepower. It also has an electric motor mated to a lineartronic continuous variable transmission.

This powertrain combination offers the following:

• EV Driving: Power solely comes from the electric motor and is activated automatically in conditions where engine driving is traditionally not efficient.
• Motor Assist Driving: uses both engine and electric motor for comfortable and smooth acceleration.
• Engine Driving: Power is supplied only from the engine—usually when driving at high speeds.
• Regenerative braking: The electric motor’s energy bank gets juiced up during braking and deceleration.

Further, the Subaru Crosstrek e-Boxer Hybrid’s placement of the motor and battery along the vehicle’s centerline matches engine’s low center of gravity and Symmetrical all-wheel-drive configuration.

Other technologies that are available in the Subaru Crostrek e-Boxer Hybrid are

• SI-DRIVE (Subaru Intelligent Drive): this system instantly adjusts the engine response to grant driver’s the power and agility when needed.
• Evolved Subaru Global Platform: Overall driving dynamics have been further improved with the increased use of structural adhesives and the rigidity of suspension mounting points.
• Full Inner Frame Structure: A full inner frame construction and wider structural adhesives use help reduce sudden body movements while driving.

For its aesthetics, the Subaru Crosstrek e-Boxer Hybrid comes with features that expresses a sharp and aggressive look with distinct front fascia, overhanging fenders, 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels with a thick spoke design, redesigned roof rails, and "mountain range" motif non-slip sill plates.

Inside, the Subaru Crostrek e-Boxer Hybrid is equipped with a 10-way power driver's seat with lumbar support, a power-sliding glass sunroof, and sport-styled aluminum pedals, 11.6-inch infotainment system (with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration), Qi-compatible wireless charging pad. It can also haul up to 1,297 liters.

Moreover, the model boasts a suite of safety technologies such as:

• Emergency Driving Stop System
• Enhanced EyeSight 4.0 Driver Assist Technology
• Adaptive Cruise Control
• Pre-Collision Braking
• Lane Centering Control
• Lane Departure Prevention

Although not yet declaring the official price tag, MIPI mentioned that the 2026 Subaru Crosstrek e-BOXER Hybrid will be offered in Citron Yellow Pearl and Sand Dune Pearl tones.
