General Tire re-enters PH market

MANILA: General Tire has officially been revived in the Philippine market.

The American tire marque is currently handled by YHI Philippines, a local importer and distributor of automotive products, tires, wheels, lubricants, and industrial batteries.

Best known for its sport utility vehicle and pickup tire products, the brand’s new distributor offers the Grabber series to comprise its initial offerings.

Per YHI Philippines, the Grabber HT6 is recommended for daily use and is most reliable for the urban lifestyle while the Grabber AT6 prov ides all-terrain toughness without sacrificing on-road comfort.

On the other hand, Grabber A/Tx is designed to meet the demands of overlanding enthusiasts. The next-generation, aggressive all-terrain carries a Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake badge — certified to perform in all weather conditions.

The Grabber X3 is fitted for extreme adventures giving grip on mud, dirt, and rocks.

“It will be our mission to carry on the brand’s legacy. We are looking forward to growing General Tire’s market share with the initial lineup of products, as we anticipate additional tire models in the future. The brand’s advancement is guided by our strong drive to market new sizes and patterns that will cater to a larger audience in the local SUV and 4x4 scene,” YHI Philippines General Manager Jason Delloso said.

Meanwhile, Delloso told Zigwheels Philippines that the company shall bring in passenger car (radial) tire options come the latter part of the year.

General Tire’s products are now available nationwide via Wheel Gallery, Gears, Tri-J Marketing in Cebu, and Power Point Enterprises in Cagayan De Oro.
