Goodyear lights up iconic HQ signage for 125th anniversary

Goodyear has lit up the iconic signage in its headquarters in Ohio for its 125th anniversary. 

In partnership with The Well CDC — a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing Akron’s Middlebury neighborhood — Goodyear revitalized its lightbox. 

The said signage, Goodyear pointed out, has not been in operation for almost 10 years. 

“This project shines a light on Goodyear's continued commitment to invest in Akron and in the communities where we live and work. We are thankful to work together with great community partners like The Well CDC to support the neighborhood that Goodyear has called home for the past 125 years,” Goodyear Senior Vice President and Chief Communications Officer Laura Duda noted. 

According to Goodyear, the historic sign has served as an icon for both the American tire company and the city of Akron. 

“The Well CDC invests in people through the built environment. What better way to imagine the future of our community than by partnering with Goodyear to invest in our place and re-light this iconic Akron landmark. We hope this sign can be a symbol in the Middlebury neighborhood, and all over Akron, that we have a place worth investing in and fighting for,” The Well CDC Executive Director Zac Kohl said. 

Goodyear turned 125 years old last August 29. 

In the Philippines, Goodyear is considered a major player in the local tire industry. The company’s products have been serving many Filipino families. 

Its local lineup consists of tires like the Goodyear Assurance Comforttred, Assurance Triplemax, Assurance Duraplus, and Assurance Fuelmax.
